A Call To Action Amid Imperfections

Jewel shared her belief that immediate action is crucial, even if it means working with individuals or administrations whose politics don’t align perfectly with her own.

“If I wait to try until I agree 100% with the people that might be willing to help me, I’d never get off the bench. I don’t think that’s how activism works,” she said. “It’s actually… because things are so imperfect that we have to find ways to engage and to participate. And we have to act now. We cannot wait another four years.”

She expressed optimism about collaborating with members of the new administration on mental health policy, emphasizing that her priority is to save lives and ensure mental health remains part of the national conversation.
