Trace Cyrus Slams Braison For Suggesting Billy Ray Is 'Healthy'

Trace Cyrus is speaking out following comments from his half-brother, Braison Cyrus, regarding their father, Billy Ray Cyrus’ health.

Earlier this week, Trace Cyrus, Tish Cyrus’s son from a previous relationship whom Billy Ray later adopted, raised concerns about his father’s health.

In an emotional Instagram post earlier this week, Trace suggested that Billy Ray was not “healthy” and extended an offer to support his dad through apparent struggles. His post followed Billy Ray’s performance at a presidential inaugural ball, where Trace implied his father’s health might not be as strong as portrayed.

On the flip side, Braison claims his dad is, in fact, healthy. “I’ve spent the last year getting to know my dad better than I ever have,” Braison wrote via Instagram Stories on Friday. “After he spent a week in the hospital in the fall, I’m grateful that my dad is happy, healthy and ready to make this record.”

Braison's statement came as he announced his collaboration with Billy Ray on the Grammy-winning singer’s upcoming album. Braison, whom Billy Ray shares with ex-wife Tish Cyrus, will serve as the album’s producer.

While Billy Ray has not addressed Trace’s claims directly, Braison’s positive remarks about their father’s recovery prompted a fiery response from the former Metro Station frontman. Taking to Instagram Stories on Friday, Trace reacted to Braison’s assertion that Billy Ray is doing well.

“Birds of a feather flock together,” Trace wrote, seemingly alluding to his belief that Braison might also be facing personal challenges. “This is what healthy looks like. Braison, I can help you too. Damn, man up boys.”

Trace did not stop there, adding in a follow-up post: “My life is perfect. I live the life every man dreams of. … I’m the future of country music.”

Trace has opened up about his complicated feelings toward his father in an emotional social media post.

Trace, who was adopted by Billy Ray in 1993 following his marriage to now ex-wife Tish, shared his reflections on their relationship and his concerns for his father’s well-being.

“Since my earliest memories, I was obsessed with you,” Trace wrote. “The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now.”

Alongside a throwback photo of the two performing together on stage, Trace expressed worry about Billy Ray’s current state. “It seems this world has beaten you down, and it’s become obvious to everyone but you,” he continued. “You may be upset with me for posting this, but I really could care less at this point.”

Billy Ray, who also shares son Christopher Cody Cyrus with ex-girlfriend Kristin Luckey and son Braison with Tish, has not publicly responded to Trace’s post.

Trace’s message further reflected on the family’s collective hope for Billy Ray’s recovery. “We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew and hoping for the day he returns,” he added. “You’re not healthy, Dad, and everyone is noticing it.”

In addition to his plea for his father’s well-being, Trace shared a personal update about his own life. “As I write this with tears in my eyes, I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon,” he shared. “We haven’t talked in a while, but I’m over a year and a half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing. I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly, but I think I have a pretty good idea, and I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help.”

Trace concluded his post with a heartfelt promise: “You know how to reach me. Till that day comes, I will continue to pray for you.”
