Accompanying several touching photos of herself snuggling with Carl, the singer penned a heartfelt message that revealed the depth of her grief.
"This really broke my heart this time," she wrote. "I'll see you in the next life, my baby boy. God really outdid himself with this creature."
While Kesha did not disclose Carl's age or the cause of his death, her words hinted at the shock and pain of the unexpected loss.
A Look Back At Carl
Over the years, Kesha has been a devoted pet owner, caring for a variety of animals, including her Siamese cat, Mr. Peep$, her dachshund Bacon, and other furry friends. Carl was her latest addition and quickly became a prominent figure in her life and online presence.
Fans of the "Tik Tok" singer grew familiar with Carl through frequent updates on his antics, making him a favorite among her followers. The news of his passing sparked an outpouring of support from Kesha's fan base and celebrity friends, with thousands offering condolences and messages of love.
"Nooo, not Carl!!! I'm so sorry, Kesha. Sending so much love. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge, Carl," one of her fans commented.
"Sending you lots of love and comforting energy. It can be absolutely heartbreaking to say goodbye to such a special part of your life. Carl had a life full of fun, love, and wonder and you gave him that," another expressed.
Overwhelmed by the response, Kesha expressed her gratitude in the comments section, writing, "Thank you for all the kindness. I've been laying in my hotel room crying over all the love."
Kesha Slams Trump J.D Vance After 'Childless Cat Lady' Comments
Kesha is a proud cat mama and she has proven so over the years. In fact, ahead of the recent Presidential election, the singer shared her thoughts on Donald Trump's 2024 running mate. "Booooo! F-ck that man," she declared. However, she didn't stop there, adding, "That's all I have to say. F-ck them all."
The Ohio senator faced backlash last year over remarks he made during a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson. In the resurfaced footage, Vance claimed the U.S. is being led by "childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too."
Vance went on to target specific Democratic leaders, stating, "It's just a basic fact — you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] — the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?"
Inside Kesha's Highly Publicized Lawsuit
In October 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke, accusing him of sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, emotional abuse, and violating California's laws on business practices. She alleged that Dr. Luke had drugged and raped her and emotionally manipulated her over the course of their professional relationship, which began when she signed with his label, Kemosabe Records, at the age of 18.
Dr. Luke denied the allegations and filed a countersuit against Kesha for defamation and breach of contract, claiming she fabricated the allegations to break free from her recording contract.
The #FreeKesha Movement
Kesha's legal battle sparked the #FreeKesha movement, with fans and celebrities advocating for her freedom from her contract with Kemosabe Records, which kept her tied to Dr. Luke.
High-profile artists, including Taylor Swift, Adele, Lady Gaga, and others, showed support for Kesha during this time. For example, Swift donated $250,000 to help with Kesha's legal expenses.
In June 2023, just weeks before the case was set to go to trial, Kesha and Dr. Luke reached a settlement agreement. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but it marked the end of nearly a decade of legal battles.
