Kanye West has reportedly accumulated a substantial property tax debt, totaling $365,000, due to unpaid taxes on his residences and Yeezy headquarters.
The rapper recently purchased a pricy $35 million Beverly Hills mansion for himself and his wife, Bianca Censori.
However, Kanye West has seemingly chosen to stay out of the country as he continues to travel around the world with her.
Kanye West Racks Up Massive Property Tax Bill
West has incurred a massive property tax debt on at least six of his properties, totaling about $365,000 in unpaid taxes.
Although the exact timeline for the unpaid taxes remains unclear, reports suggest West's tax bill has been compounded by monthly penalties to the tune of $3,272.
According to the U.S. Sun, the "Donda" rapper will also have to pay up to $82,662 by April 10 on some of his Los Angeles properties. Otherwise, he'll be hit with more financial punishment from the Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector.
It remains unknown if he intends to settle the debt or contest the charges amid his prolonged absence from the country.
A Breakdown Of The Rapper's Property Tax Bill
West accrued the biggest tax bill on his $6.7 million Yeezy HQ in West Hollywood, which remains empty after he had the roof torn off for reconstruction.
The total arrears on the derelict property amount to $161,071, with the rapper further slammed with $1,435-a-month penalties.
He also owes about $39,500 and $358 per month penalties on a church building he bought for $1.5 million in Northridge. According to the U.S. Sun, West has never paid tax on the property since acquiring it in January 2023.
His six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom ranch home in Calabasas also has debt on it as the "Vultures 1" owes $94,364 with penalties of $1,103 per month.
West's second Calabasas home, a three-bed, four-bath property, has a tax debt of $51,179 since 2023 and penalties of $1,013 a month. The rapper got both properties on his divorce from ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
A Westlake three-bed townhouse he owns is also $6,240 in arrears since December, alongside his $14.5 million Wyoming ranch, which owes $13,215 in taxes with penalty costs unknown.
Kanye West Bought A New Beverly Hills Mansion
It comes as the rapper recently snapped up a sprawling Beverly Hills mansion for $35 million.
The 20,000-square-foot property boasts stunning features, including an outdoor pool, tennis court, entertainment pavilion connected to the main house, pool house, and gazebo.
Reports suggest he and his wife Bianca Censori are yet to move into the stunning property amid his prolonged absence from the country, allegedly for fear of being made to face several mounting legal filings against him.
A source told the Daily Mail that they bought the 11-bedroom, 18-bathroom property as their "last ditch effort" to save their marriage as they try to create a "grounded" life together.
The Rapper's Wife Wants 'Stability'
West and Censori were previously rumored to be divorcing, as the Australian beauty was said to want "stability" in their marriage.
However, those rumors were squashed after the couple purchased their new home together.
"Bianca has wanted stability for well over a year now," the source told the news outlet. "This house was a last-ditch effort to save their marriage because Kanye knows what she wants, which is a family and to be grounded. But her family doesn't know if Kanye is going to give this to her."
They continued, "Kanye changes his mind daily on what he wants to do and that house was purchased with the intent of living in it."
Kanye West Has Been Abroad For Long While
West has seemingly pitched his tents in Tokyo, Japan, as he continues to stay away from the US.
Sources earlier suggested that he was doing so because he was "terrified" about being dragged into the sex crime controversy that has plagued his former friend Sean "Diddy" Combs.
He was also seen last week shopping for snacks at a 7-Eleven convenience store with three of his children: Saint, Psalm, and Chicago, all of whom clutched onto the bag of snacks they bought.
Meanwhile, the insider who spoke to the Daily Mail said Censori is "sick of hopping from hotel to hotel and from city to city" and hasn't "had any stability since she married Kanye," adding that with the sexual assault lawsuit they're both facing from his former employee, "she is stressed."
They added, "One day they are moving into their dream home. The next he is building a community on top of it and leveling it. Then the next day, they are flipping it."
