Actor and filmmaker Justin Baldoni is reportedly taking his ongoing dispute with actress Blake Lively to the next level by planning the launch of a dedicated website aimed at bolstering his accusations against her.
The move comes amid heightened tensions between the two stars, with Justin Baldoni allegedly seeking to present detailed evidence and narratives to support his claims against Blake Lively.
Justin Baldoni Fires Back Against Blake Lively's Claims
The legal battle between Baldoni and Lively continues to escalate, with Baldoni filing a $400 million lawsuit on January 16 against the actress-producer, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist. The lawsuit alleges defamation, extortion, and other claims, following Lively’s initial complaint of sexual harassment against Baldoni.
The "Jane the Virgin" alum had also previously sued The New York Times on December 31, for libel, false light invasion of privacy, and other grievances regarding an article that covered Lively’s accusations and a purported retaliatory smear campaign.
New Behind-The-Scenes Footage Reveals More Details
In response to Lively’s December 20 sexual harassment complaint, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, released a video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the set of the 2024 hit movie "It Ends With Us." The footage was presented as evidence to counter some of Lively’s claims, which include an accusation regarding an interaction during a "slow dance scene" on the set of "It Ends With Us."
According to the actress, Baldoni allegedly “leaned forward and slowly dragged his lips from her ear down her neck as he said, 'It smells so good.'” However, the footage from the scene paints a different picture.
In the video, Lively can be heard jokingly saying, “I’m probably getting spray tan on you,” to which Baldoni laughs and responds, “It smells good.”
Justin Baldoni Is Expected To Launch A Website
Freedman’s legal team stated in a statement shared with PEOPLE Magazine: “Justin Baldoni and team has nothing to hide, and this once more proves this.”
Baldoni and his associates from "It Ends With Us," who are also named in Lively’s lawsuit, are preparing additional defenses. According to his legal team, “Baldoni and the other associates have the right to defend themselves with the truth. This is what we will be continuing to show with the upcoming website containing all correspondence as well as relevant videos that quash her claims.”
The planned website is expected to serve as a public repository of evidence, including emails, text messages, and videos, aimed at disproving Lively’s allegations.
Could More Details Emerge When Baldoni's Website Goes Live?
Baldoni’s countersuit against Lively and her collaborators also alleges that the "Gossip Girl" alum implied he should consider plastic surgery to alter his nose. In the same behind-the-scenes footage, both actors can be seen making lighthearted jokes about Baldoni’s nose, with Lively even referencing plastic surgery in jest.
As part of Baldoni’s legal defense, his team has announced plans to launch a website aimed at refuting Lively’s claims. The site is expected to feature additional footage from the set of the Colleen Hoover adaptation, providing what Baldoni’s team describes as further evidence to “quash her claims.”
Blake Lively Sues Justin Baldoni
Lively has come forward with serious allegations against her former co-star Baldoni, accusing him of repeated instances of sexual harassment during the filming of their most recent project. The claims, detailed in a lawsuit filed by Lively, allege inappropriate comments, demands for unnecessary nudity, and even physical misconduct on set.
According to the lawsuit, one of the incidents involved Baldoni “discreetly biting and sucking on Ms. Lively’s lower lip during a scene in which he improvised numerous kisses on each take.” The legal filing further asserts, “Mr. Baldoni insisted on shooting the full scene over and over again, well beyond what would have been required on an ordinary set, and without advance notice or consent.”
The accusations extend beyond physical misconduct, as the lawsuit also claims Baldoni “inserted improvised gratuitous sexual content and/or scenes involving nudity into the film (including for an underage character) in highly unsettling ways” without informing Lively or obtaining her prior consent.
These allegations have added significant weight to the ongoing legal battle between Lively and Baldoni, drawing widespread attention and sparking conversations about boundaries and professionalism on film sets. As the case unfolds, both sides are expected to present further evidence to support their claims.
