In an interview with Closer published on Tuesday, January 21, the reality television star admitted, “I won’t lie and I’m not proud, but I bought Ozempic injections from the black market. I was in a desperate situation because I had a lot of weight that wasn’t shifting, and being in my 40s it’s harder.”

Initially, Horgan-Wallace described her experience with the injections as “brilliant.” During the first three months, she reported having “no hunger pangs,” avoiding unhealthy foods, and feeling “so much energy.” She added, “I went down from a size 12 to an 8, it felt amazing!”

However, the positive effects didn’t last.

Three months later, Horgan-Wallace’s health took a dramatic turn. “I must have had a dodgy batch because my body reacted so badly,” she recounted. “For three days, I thought I was going to die. I was in my bed, waking up vomiting, suffering with diarrhea and falling asleep again. At one point, I had three bags of vomit by my bedside.”

Despite her worsening condition, Horgan-Wallace hesitated to seek medical help due to embarrassment.

“There was a point without doubt where I thought I was going to die because I couldn’t even function,” she admitted. “I wanted to go to A&E, but I couldn’t drag myself there because I was too embarrassed to say what I’d done. I felt guilt over wasting NHS resources when I’d done this to myself.”

Eventually, she called her best friend for help. “When I started to get my vision back, I called my best friend. He came round with electrolytes and coconut water, took one look at me, and said, ‘What have you done to yourself?’”

In the aftermath of her health scare, Horgan-Wallace is urging others not to take the same risks.

“My message is do not do it. I nearly died because of that sh-t,” she said. “Your life is not worth losing over losing weight. Don’t cut corners with your health and don’t buy stuff off the black market because you don’t know what’s in it. It’s the most horrific health issue I’ve ever been through, and I will never do that again.”

Since her ordeal, Horgan-Wallace has regained the weight she initially lost and is now a size 10. She also had to address the aftermath of rapid weight loss, including saggy skin.

“I looked like a deflated balloon everywhere, I didn’t recognize myself!” she said. “With slimming injections, you lose weight so rapidly that the skin hasn’t had enough time to stretch back, and you end up looking older. I’ve had to have surgery because everything went saggy.”

She also underwent surgery to receive a breast lift and tighten the skin around her chin last year.

“They took away so much excess skin I had around my chin and from my neck and basically lifted it all up. I’ve wanted my boobs done for a while because they looked like udders!” she said. “I don’t mind a saggy natural boob, but when you have a big, old implant at the top, they looked like they were hanging."

The reality television star added, "The surgeon talked me out of going bigger, and gave me an uplift which I’m happy with, but next year I’m definitely getting bigger implants! I’m from that era of glamour modelling and big boobs, it’s not for everyone, but I love that pin-up, Jessica Rabbit look.”

What Is Ozempic?

Ozempic is a brand name for semaglutide, a medication primarily prescribed to manage type 2 diabetes. It is administered as a once-weekly injectable and works by mimicking the effects of a natural hormone called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1).

While its primary purpose is managing diabetes, Ozempic has gained attention for its off-label use as a weight-loss aid. Its appetite-suppressing effects have made it popular among individuals looking to lose weight. Due to its popularity, there have been reports of shortages and instances of counterfeit products being sold on the black market.
