Fans were shocked to learn that Snoop Dogg would perform at an event honoring Donald Trump given his past comments about the 45th and 47th president.
Snoop shared a video on Instagram in 2017 calling those performing at Trump's first inauguration, "Uncle Tom-a-s N---as." The "Gin and Juice" artist also called people who voted for Trump, "stupid motherf-ckers."
Snoop Dogg also promised to "roast" those who performed at Trump's inauguration after the president reportedly had trouble finding musicians to take the gig.
Grammy Award-winning singer John Legend told the BBC back in 2017 that Trump couldn't find performers because "creative people tend to reject bigotry and hate."
"We tend to be more liberal-minded," he added. "When we see somebody that's preaching division and hate and bigotry, it's unlikely he'll get a lot of creative people that want to be associated with him."
After Snoop Dogg's performance was shared on X, one fan exclaimed, "Snoop Dogg and President Donald Trump?"

Snoop Dogg may have threatened to roast whoever performed at Trump's 2017 inauguration, but now, he is the one being roasted following his Crypto Ball performance.
One fan wrote on X, "SNOOP DOGG IS PLAYING FOR THE CHEETO?! This is actually devastating. I’m so d-mn bummed."
Another fan replied, "I say this with all disrespect, F-CK Snoop Dogg and honestly anyone agreeing to perform at this bull sh-t inauguration."
"Snoop Dogg truly stands for nothing and will do anything for a check cuz wasn’t he just saying f-ck that man not to long ago. Now he’s about shuck and jive for him smh."
Fans on Instagram were equally miffed. "The irony and hypocrisy here," wrote one, prompting another to reply, "So disappointing."
Trump Commuted Sentence Of Death Row Records Co-Founder Michael 'Harry-O' Harris
One reason Snoop Dogg may have agreed to perform at Trump's Crypto Ball may be his friendship with Death Row Records co-founder, Michael "Harry-O" Harris.
During an interview with The Sunday Times last year, Snoop Dogg appeared to soften his stance on Trump because he commuted the sentence of Death Row Records co-founder, Michael "Harry-O" Harris. Harris had served 33 years in prison for cocaine trafficking.
"Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me," noted Snoop Dogg. "He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris... So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump."
Nelly Scheduled To Perform At Trump's Inauguration
Fans were also surprised to learn that rapper Nelly will perform at Trump's inauguration on Monday.
The president-elect is reportedly holding three balls to celebrate him being elected the 47th President of the United States, and Nelly will perform at the Inaugural Liberty Ball in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 20.
The "Here Comes the Boom" artist was announced as a surprise performer by CBS reporter Taurean Small on X.
"NEW from @finnygo & me: rapper Nelly is set to perform at Trump's Inaugural Liberty Ball on Monday night according to sources familiar with Inauguration planning. @CBSNews @CBSPolitics," wrote Small, prompting one fan to reply, "Hey, must be the money."
