Tekashi 6ix9ine Sues LA Fitness For $1M For Allegedly Failing To Protect Him During Brutal Gym Attack

Tekashi 6ix9ine has slammed LA Fitness with a lawsuit after he was brutally beaten by alleged gang members in one of their facilities in 2023.

In the suit, he is seeking damages of $1 million, claiming that the company failed to provide adequate security that would have prevented the "brutal attack."

He also claimed he suffered a variety of physical, emotional, and financial hurt as a result of the beatdown.

According to TMZ, Tekashi is looking to make LA Fitness pay for more than $1 million in damages after he was "brutally beaten" by a group of men in one of their gyms in South Florida.

The incident occurred in March 2023, with footage of it later going viral on social media.

The rapper has recently filed a suit against the company at a court in Palm Beach "claiming the gym failed to provide adequate security to prevent the brutal attack."

He also alleged that the "gym staff was not properly educated or informed regarding security protocols at LA Fitness" and that they "failed to promptly request police presence once they were aware of the attack."

He further mentioned that LA Fitness' failure to implement a proper response to his attack led to him being "brutally beaten, assaulted, and robbed."

According to the rapper, he also suffered "bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, humiliation, medical expenses, loss of income, and diminished quality of life" as a result of the incident.

After the incident, Tekashi's attorney told TMZ that Tekashi was in the sauna of the gym when the attack occurred.

It appeared that the rainbow-haired rapper was dragged from the sauna to the bathroom floor by the men, whom he identified as Latin Kings gang members.

With no security present, Tekashi was left defenseless during the attack and was thoroughly beaten by the assailants.

In the viral footage, Tekashi could be seen trying to protect his head from the blows. At one point, one of the men kicked him in the stomach, followed by more punches to his head.

After the attackers had their fill, they left Tekashi, who was later seen walking out of the restroom with a swollen, bloodied face.

Police and EMS were eventually called, and the rapper was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Since the attack, it has been speculated that the rapper was targeted due to his cooperation with federal officials in dismantling the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang.

Tekashi had initially faced decades in prison on racketeering, drug, and other charges. However, after cutting a deal with federal prosecutors, they requested a reduced sentence and informed the presiding judge of his cooperation in taking down his former gang associates.

Ultimately, Judge Paul Engelmayer sentenced Tekashi to just two years in prison in 2019.

He was also credited with 13 months of time served, ordered to complete 300 hours of community service, and fined $35,000.

In April 2020, Tekashi was released from jail early after complaining about his health conditions, which he claimed made him especially vulnerable to the coronavirus.

The rapper was placed under supervised release but was arrested in October after failing drug tests and traveling without prior permission from his probation officer.

In November, he was sentenced to 45 days in jail, followed by 30 days of home incarceration, 30 days of home detention, and a 30-day curfew.

Engelmayer ripped into the troubled musician during the ruling, saying his "breach of the court's trust is profound," per the New York Post.

He added, "Bottom line, I see a pattern. Five [probation] violations says you don't believe the rules apply to you — maybe you believe that's because you famous rapper Tekashi 6ix 9ine."

The rapper also has a pending domestic violence case in the Dominican Republic related to his alleged assault of his girlfriend, reggaeton artist Yailin la Más Viral. Additionally, he has been charged with battery and failure to appear in connection with the case.

Last year, the IRS seized some of Tekashi's luxury cars and auctioned them off to cover the rapper's debts.

According to TMZ, one of the seized cars was a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which had 49,294 miles and came customized with a black leather interior and TV screens in the headrest. The vehicle was sold for $175,043 to an undisclosed bidder.

Another luxurious car confiscated was a 2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which sold for a lower price of $85,500 and had a lower mileage of slightly below 40,000 miles.

Both vehicles were customized with a distinctive rainbow paint splatter wrap, which Tekashi himself seemed to have applied when he first purchased them.
