For anyone who loves a good view and wants to experience it all while in Vegas, a helicopter tour is a great way of achieving that.

Maverick Helicopters, located at the airport on the south end of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, offers a "Vegas Views" helicopter tour that is perfect for someone who's never been in a helicopter and may be a little nervous about the experience. The entire flight is under 15 minutes and gives you an entire view of the Strip and surrounding areas.

"It's a great opportunity with our 'Vegas Views' flight because it's 10 to 12 minutes. It's great for a first-time flyer because it gets them where if you were to jump into, say, one of our Grand Canyon flights, you know, it's a 45-minute flight to the Grand Canyon. And if that's your first time, you're really going to psych yourself out of having a great experience," Bryan Kroten, Maverick Helicopters Vice President of Marketing told The Blast exclusively. "So if you do that first flight, the second flight is that much better."

And a helicopter ride is good for the whole family, even the little ones.

"It's the same as major airlines. Children under two are able to be lap children," Kroten said. "Any child over two needs to have their own seat, but there is no age limit. It's up to the parent's discretion."

Maverick Helicopters has been showing off the Vegas skyline from up above since 1995. They're about to celebrate their 30th year helping locals and visitors alike see Sin City from a new view. The flights grow in popularity more and more each year.

In addition to the nighttime "Vegas Views" tour, they offer a few other unique daytime options that can really take your visit to Vegas to a whole new level of excitement.

The "Neon & Nature" tour gives views of not only Vegas but also Red Rock Canyon and includes a "private landing above the valley."  They also offer a variety of Grand Canyon flights - "Indian Territory," "Western Journey," and "West Rim 6-in-1."

'The Best Show In Las Vegas'

For visitors of Las Vegas, a helicopter tour offers not only an amazing experience that you'll talk about for years to come, but also some Instagram worthy photos and videos that will wow your friends and family.

"Vegas has always been a unique market. The biggest boom in our business is the Instagram era," Kroten said. "People wanting to post their life and what they're doing, and there's nothing cooler in Vegas than going in a helicopter above the Strip."

He also explained that "experiential travel" has "boomed over the last 20 years."

"The Grand Canyon flight - there's no other way to get from your hotel at the Bellagio, let's say, to the bottom of the Grand Canyon drinking a glass of champagne and back to your hotel in four hours," he continued. "That's pretty special."

While Kroten said helicopter tours have gained in popularity, they are still not exactly "mainstream." These flights are a great alternative to the usual Vegas activities such as shopping, seeing shows, and going to clubs.

"We've broken that barrier a little bit," he continued. "For the price of under $150 to fly in a $4 million helicopter above the Las Vegas Strip, it's the best show in Vegas."

Maverick Helicopters Are The 'Finest Sightseeing Helicopters'

For some, thinking about taking a helicopter ride might mean imagining it only seats two or three people and is a rough ride, but that's not at all the case for Maverick Helicopters.

"The hardest part about our industry is there is a lot of difference, and we are definitely not apples to apples," Kroten said. "The helicopter itself is an Airbus 130 helicopter. It was specifically designed for tourism. It's the finest sightseeing helicopter there is."

The pilots have a high experience level and are more than just flying the helicopter safely. They're also considered, "entertainers, concierge, and everything and anything to you."

"That's why we call it a helicopter experience," he explained. "It's not a flight, it's not a tour, it's an experience."

The Blast Went On A 'Vegas Views' Flight Recently

The Blast recently had the opportunity to experience a Maverick Helicopters flight over the Las Vegas Strip at night.

While my nerves were kicking ahead of the flight, once in the helicopter, I was ready to go. Our flight had a total of six people and the pilot. The pilot had a friendly and joking personality which definitely helped ease my nerves about my first ever helicopter ride.

I guess I watch too many movies because I imagined that it would be a rocky ride, but it was anything but that. It was so smooth and felt slow, although after the flight, my son sent me the Life360 notification he received that I "completed a 14-mile drive" at a "dangerous speed: 116mph." We all got a good laugh out of that one!

It's hard to describe the sights, but it was incredible to say the least. Sure, we've all seen the city from different angles online, in TV shows, in movies, and maybe even from roof tops in or around the Strip but experiencing it in this way is a whole different vibe. It's an absolute must for anyone who wants to see it all from a different perspective and get some great photos and videos in the process.
