Country music icons Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood recently made a rare public appearance together amid the allegations surrounding Brooks and a former hair and makeup artist.
As The Blast reported, in her lawsuit, the woman claims that Brooks sexually assaulted her in 2019, including an incident at his home where he allegedly forced her hands onto his genitals and made explicit comments. She further accused him of exposing himself repeatedly and sending her explicit text messages.
Despite the accusations, Trisha Yearwood is seemingly standing by her husband as she and Garth Brooks performed together at the funeral of late President Jimmy Carter.

Brooks, who has denied all allegations and filed a countersuit against the accuser identified as "Jane Roe," performed alongside his wife, Yearwood, at the Atlanta-based service. The duo delivered a heartfelt rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine in tribute to the former president, a song they also performed at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral in 2023. With Brooks on acoustic guitar and Yearwood harmonizing, their performance was accompanied by the choir, providing a poignant farewell to the late president.
The couple’s connection to the Carters dates back years through their shared work with Habitat for Humanity. The two couples developed a close friendship over time, with Brooks and Yearwood frequently participating in Habitat for Humanity building projects, including the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Week Project in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“He has a legacy of service, and he never stopped serving,” Yearwood said during the October event marking Carter’s 100th birthday. “We’re just two volunteers, but everybody on this site feels that responsibility to make them proud.”
Details Of The Ongoing Lawsuit Garth Brooks Is Facing
The country music star is facing serious allegations of sexual assault and battery, detailed in a lawsuit filed in California in October.
The accuser, identified as "Jane Doe" to maintain anonymity, alleges a series of disturbing incidents that she claims occurred during her employment as Brooks' hairstylist and makeup artist. Jane Doe, who began working for Brooks in 2017 after a prior stint with his wife, Yearwood, in 1999, alleged that the most egregious incident took place in 2019 during a work trip.
According to the lawsuit, Brooks invited her on his private jet to Los Angeles, where he was taping a Grammy tribute performance. Upon arrival, Jane Doe said she was shocked to discover that Brooks had booked a single hotel suite with only one bedroom, leaving her without a separate space to stay.
The filing alleges that Brooks appeared in the bedroom doorway without clothing, leaving Jane Doe feeling "trapped" and uncomfortable. The lawsuit claims that he later raped her during the trip and subsequently escalated his inappropriate behavior, frequently expressing sexual fantasies and physically groping her.

Jane Doe also detailed further instances of alleged misconduct at Brooks' home, where she claims he repeatedly exposed himself, talked explicitly about sexual acts, and once forced her hands onto his genitals while making vulgar comments. The accusations also include claims that Brooks often changed clothes in front of her and sent sexually explicit text messages, including remarks about wanting a threesome involving his wife.
The plaintiff stated that Brooks’ behavior created an environment that left her feeling powerless and humiliated, with the alleged misconduct taking place over a sustained period.
Brooks Denies The Allegations
Following the lawsuit, the "Standing Outside the Fire" singer responded to the allegations, claiming that his accuser's attorney sent him a "confidential" demand letter alleging sexual misconduct after he declined her request for "salaried employment and medical benefits."
Brooks' complaint against his accuser also dismisses the allegations as untrue:
"Defendant is well aware, however, of the substantial, irreparable damage such false allegations would do to Plaintiff's well-earned reputation as a decent and caring person, along with the unavoidable damage to his family and the irreparable damage to his career and livelihood that would result if she made good on her threat to 'publicly file' her fabricated lawsuit."
The accuser's legal team alleged that Brooks' decision to file a preemptive complaint in Mississippi was a desperate attempt to intimidate the victim and undermine the case.
Accuser Hopes That Justice Will Be Served
Attorneys Douglas H. Wigdor, Jeanne M. Christensen, and Hayley Baker expressed their determination to hold the country star accountable, voicing their hope that justice will prevail.
"We applaud our client's courage in moving forward with her complaints against Garth Brooks," they said. "The complaint filed today demonstrates that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood, and in the rap and rock and roll industries but also in the world of country music."
