Actress Kate Beckinsale has joined the growing list of celebrities speaking out about the devastating wildfires sweeping through California.
The Palisades Fire, which started on Tuesday, has rapidly intensified, with its size tripling from approximately 2,900 acres early Wednesday to an estimated 11,802 acres. However, Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley reported the fire at 10,802 acres during a Wednesday briefing. The blaze has already destroyed at least 1,000 structures, and tens of thousands of residents remain under evacuation orders.
As the fires continue to rage on, Kate Beckinsale took to Instagram to share her heartbreak over the destruction of her daughter’s childhood neighborhood in the Pacific Palisades.

Alongside footage and updates from the fires, the 51-year-old the "Pearl Harbor" actress included a list of areas reduced to ashes, including schools, gas stations, parks, and libraries.
"Hearing the winds last night, I prayed," Beckinsale began her emotional caption. "I knew it would be bad — we had to evacuate many times during our life there — but the shock at the whole of the Palisades being destroyed is unthinkably horrific."
She then reflected on the personal loss, sharing how deeply intertwined her family’s memories are with the affected area. "My daughter and I lived there for most of her childhood, and most of her childhood is gone. Her primary school, every shop or restaurant we used to go to with my parents and Michael [Sheen]’s parents — and devastatingly, most of her friends' homes. My heart is broken."

Beckinsale went on to describe the Pacific Palisades as a uniquely family-oriented community within Los Angeles, filled with young children, pets, and close-knit connections.
"The Pacific Palisades is a community very unusual to find in Los Angeles, heavy on families with young children and pets. I am weeping for all of the people and pets involved, so many of them I know," she said. "My heart is breaking for the families who have lost everything, and the people and their animals, not to mention the horses and all the wild animals, people’s businesses, and livelihoods. This is just like hell."
In a heartfelt gesture, Beckinsale offered support to those in need, urging anyone from the community who required shelter to reach out to her directly on Instagram.
"If anyone from village needs shelter and doesn’t still have a number for me ,please contact me on Instagram," she concluded.

Kate Beckinsale is far from the only Hollywood icon to speak out about the damage the fires have done. "Halloween" actress Jamie Lee Curtis shared a heartfelt video along with her profound concern about the catastrophic effects of the fires, capturing the smoke-filled skies and scorched landscapes engulfing her neighborhood.
While her home remains unharmed, the surrounding area has been completely devastated. "Our beloved neighborhood is gone. Our home is safe. So many others have lost everything. Help where you can. Thank you to the first responders and firefighters," she wrote, tagging the American Red Cross.
This update followed shortly after the "Freaky Friday" star addressed false reports circulating online and reassured fans about her family's safety.
Hollywood Stars Devastated After Seeing The Ongoing Wildfires
Comedian and actress Whitney Cummings has shared that she’s seriously contemplating leaving California in the wake of the recent devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County.
Meanwhile, Mandy Moore was forced to evacuate her home with her family as the wildfires continue to ravage the Los Angeles area. Although the actress and her loved ones are currently safe, the fate of her Pacific Palisades home remains uncertain.
Amid the intensifying crisis, actor Chris Pratt turned to social media with a heartfelt plea, asking the public to pray for the residents, first responders, and everyone impacted by the catastrophic Southern California wildfires.
President Biden Approves Major Disaster Declaration
As Southern California continues to battle the relentless wildfires, experts warn that the situation remains dire. President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for California on Wednesday, enabling immediate access to federal funds and resources for those affected.
"President Biden and Vice President Harris are praying for those who lost loved ones, had property damaged, were injured, and for everyone affected by this and other devastating fires in the area," the White House said in a statement.
Additionally, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved a fire management assistance grant to help reimburse California for firefighting costs.
While aid and resources are being deployed, the emotional and physical toll on those directly impacted, including Beckinsale and her family, serves as a stark reminder of the wildfire's devastating reach.
