Dwight Howard Wants Shaquille O'Neal To 'Stop'

Howard appeared on "Ray Daniels Presents" on Monday to discuss life and basketball. Soon, the conversation veered into his beef with O'Neal, and he spoke about it emphatically.

The 39-year-old said he hated that O'Neal always thought he was "trying to be him or be like him." He asked, "But again if I wanted to be you or be like him, shouldn't you take that as a compliment and show how great you are as a player and a person?

Howard also revealed that he once considered going to TNT's "Inside the NBA" studio, where O'Neal serves as an analyst, to ask him what the problem was.

He shared, "You keep doing it, so I'm gonna have to talk to you man to man. I was finna roll up to the studio and be like, 'Yo, what's the deal?' Do we need to throw hands?"

Howard and O'Neal's feud has dominated conversations for a long time. The pair, who are among the greatest centers the NBA has ever seen, began their careers with the Orlando Magic and later played for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, while O'Neal has four rings, Howard has just one.

O'Neal has criticized Howard throughout his career, calling out his performance and labeling him a softie. He also accused him of not being authentic and lacking grit.

The pair had a similar playing style, but their issues seemed to stem from Howard's adoption of the "Superman" nickname during the 2008 Slam Dunk Contest. That moniker was synonymous with O'Neal during his playing career and could have stirred issues between them.

O'Neal and Howard have since exchanged jabs, with the latter once asking the former for a boxing fight, which he declined, saying he didn't have enough rings to fight him.
