Ariana Grande has clarified her recent comment that beauty injections have been the secret to her youthful look.
The 31-year-old actress and singer was recently honored with the Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival. While accepting the award, she thanked "Botox and Juvederm" for her look.
Ariana Grande has now revealed that she has been "four years clean" of such beauty injections.
Ariana Grande Is 'Four Years Clean' From Botox
Grande proudly announced that she has been "clean" from beauty injections for four years after her quip about Botox.
The "7 Rings" singer took home the Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival on Friday and jokingly attributed her appearance to "Botox and Juvederm."
However, in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight after giving her acceptance speech, she clarified, "I'm still clean, I'm still clean, but when I start going [for injections] again, I'll let you know."
Grande emphasized, "I mean it. I really wanna be transparent as a beauty founder. As a founder of r.e.m. beauty, I think it's important to have transparency."
"But I love it, and I support it. But I am four years clean. You see the lines? I love them," she said about her natural skin.
The Singer Joked About Being A 'Slightly Withering Star'
While giving her acceptance speech for the Rising Star award, Grande discussed what the honor meant to her and poked fun at herself, saying she thought she'd be considered for the "slightly withering star" instead.
"You don't know how much it means to me," Grande, who turned heads at the event in a chic satin white dress, said, per People Magazine.
She added, "I thought I'd be hearing 'slightly withering star' or 'drooping star' by now, so thank you."
During the event, the pop star also praised Jennifer Coolidge, who presented her with the award. She called Coolidge a "comedic genius whose brilliance has inspired [her] entire life."
Grande then thanked "Wicked" director Jon M. Chu, whom she described as her "fearless leader," and her co-star Cynthia Erivo, whom she called her "brilliant sister."
Ariana Grande Took A Lie Detector Test About Plastic Surgery
The Botox comment comes months after Grande revealed the cosmetic procedures she has ever received during a lie detector test interview for Vanity Fair with her "Wicked" co-star Cynthia Erivo.
When pressed to confirm if she'd ever gotten a nose and boob job, she denied it, and the polygraph examiner confirmed she was telling the truth.
When asked if she ever got a "facelift," the "Into You" singer replied, "No, not yet. I'm open."
However, Grande admitted to getting fillers and Botox "in various places" in the past but said she stopped "like four years ago."
She was then asked if she'd ever gotten a Brazilian Butt Lift, which she found funny, telling the interviewer to "Get the f-ck out of here."
"Yes," she joked, prompting the polygraph examiner to clarify, "She's being deceptive."
The former Nickelodeon child star said she would never get a BBL because it "wouldn't work for her. " She added that she doesn't "think that's my thing, and I'm okay with that, you know?"
Additionally, she denied getting a "fox eye lift" and said she didn't know what it was until she was accused of getting it.
"I discovered it through people who thought I did, and I said thank you," she noted.
Arian Grande Says The Award Felt Like A 'Homecoming'
The "Thank U, Next" singer took home the Rising Star award for her performance as Glinda the Good in "Wicked."
She explained that being able to play in the movie was "not only the honor of my life" but that it "felt like a homecoming."
"For those of you who don't know, I started out in stand-up comedy. My first professional gig was in our living room in Boca Raton, Fla., [to entertain] my grandparents. I was 4 years old, and my mom gave me $5," Grande shared.
She then explained how comedy shaped her life: "I learned early on that laughter was one of our greatest escapes, and I remember the infectious impact that it had, not only on the people in my life but how it fed me in return."
"And the past 10 years, when I was really focused on music, I really missed that feeling. So it really does feel like the beginning of a new chapter," Grande added.
The Singer Was Labeled An 'Iconic Global Performer'
The festival chairman, Nachhattar Singh Chandi, was also moved with pride for Grande winning the award, and he said it is the "beginning of the many accolades" she will yet amass in her career.
He said, "Ariana Grande is an iconic global performer who has seamlessly transitioned to film in her first major starring role, proving herself to be a multifaceted and undeniable talent."
"This role is certain to be the beginning of the many accolades she will garner throughout her acting career," he added.
Grande has also been nominated for the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards for her supporting role in the music fantasy film.
"Wicked" is based on the 1995 book by Gregory Maguire that was later turned into a three-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical in 2003.
The film's final part is set to hit theaters in November 2025.
