Travis Kelce Fined For 'Unsportsmanlike Conduct' Over Touchdown Celebration

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce set a milestone with his 77th career touchdown, surpassing Tony Gonzalez.

However, the star athlete's moment was sullied by a fine over a celebratory dunk in tribute to Gonzalez.

While it's unclear if Travis Kelce has paid the fine, Tony Gonzalez jokingly offered to cover the cost in response to the footballer's tribute.

On Christmas Day, Kelce secured his 77th career touchdown in a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, surpassing Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez as the franchise's all-time leader.

However, according to the New York Post, his celebratory dunk over the goalpost didn't come without consequences.

The NFL recently announced a $14,069 fine for violating league rules regarding "Unsportsmanlike Conduct - Use of Prop."

Gonzalez, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019, responded to the news by congratulating Kelce and humorously offering to cover the fine.

Before the NFL banned it, Gonzalez popularized the goal post dunk as his signature touchdown celebration, inspiring many receivers to follow suit.

However, in 2013, Saints tight end Jimmy Graham unintentionally shifted the course of the rulebook when his celebratory dunk knocked the goalpost off balance, causing a game delay.

The following offseason, the NFL officially outlawed the move, creating what became known as "The Jimmy Graham Rule."

Gonzalez, who played for the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008, remains an iconic figure in Kansas City history, while Kelce has been a key part of the team since joining in 2013.

Meanwhile, according to one of Kelce's teammates, NFL veteran Adam "Pacman" Jones, Taylor Swift might be walking down the aisle soon.

Sharing insights into their relationship during his BetOnline YouTube show, Jones hinted at major milestones for the couple, who have been together for just over a year and a half.

He highlighted the tight end's track record of being all-in regarding relationships.

"I'm thinking this year they are going to get married or after football. Of course, they are going to be together," Jones said, per The Sun. "They have got enough money to take each other's money. But I do see love there. So I do see a baby and everything."

Jones, who has known Kelce since their college days at the University of Cincinnati, vouched for the authenticity of the couple's bond.

He noted, "I think they are in a real relationship. I know Trav because he went to UC. His love [is genuine]. When he says he is with somebody, he is with somebody."

Kelce is reportedly feeling some family pressure to propose, as engagement rumors surrounding him and Swift show no signs of slowing down.

Speculation reignited after unseen photos from Swift's Eras Tour-themed party surfaced online. In the snapshots, eagle-eyed swifties noticed that the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker's left ring finger appeared "blurred," while others believed she deliberately kept it out of sight.

This fueled wild theories that Swift may have digitally "edited out" an engagement ring, leading some to believe Kelce had already popped the question.

Despite his attempts to avoid the gossip, a source revealed that Kelce can't completely ignore the rumors, noting that they have even led to some playful nudging from his family.

"He does come across these stories because it's impossible to miss," the source explained to the Daily Mail. "He finds a lot of it funny because he knows how badly people want this to happen, but sometimes it can feel like a lot."

The insider added, "His family jokes with him about a wedding and pits him up against his brother whose wife is already popping out more babies."

However, Kelce and Swift are reportedly handling the engagement rumors with humor.

"Taylor and Travis find it extremely humorous that they have been engaged every day since they got together," a friend of the singer shared with the outlet,

The source continued, "These engagement rumors started from day one, and they do not know how they can even have a public engagement at this point."

According to a trusted insider, the intense public scrutiny surrounding Kelce and Swift's relationship has made it clear that their engagement will be a highly private affair.

"Travis is going to have to go above and beyond, but it won't be a public spectacle," the source explained.
