'Michael Jackson ONE' Brings The King Of Pop To Life In Vegas

Just before the holiday season, the wildly popular Cirque du Soleil show upgraded some technologically advanced elements, making the show even more immersive than before.

One of the big changes included new, high-tech panels to give the show larger-than-life visuals from every angle. These panels, with new artistically choreographed drones, new choreography, and reimagined costumes, help to make this a must see show even if you've experienced it in the past.

The show highlights many of Jackson's internationally known and loved hits, such as "Billie Jean," "Thriller," "Dirty Diana," "Smooth Criminal," as well as many others.

Jose Concepcion-Suarez, 32, has been a performer in the show since its creation in 2013. He wants people who are considering seeing the show that it "truly carries the legacy of Michael Jackson's artistry."

"It is a journey through some of his greatest hits. It takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you feeling so full of energy and life," he told The Blast exclusively. "From the music, acrobatics, projections, and technology, you won't be disappointed."

Concepcion-Suarez has been performing since he was 15. He did mostly competitions and eventually TV shows, movies, and then Cirque du Soleil.

"My best friend got me into dancing back in middle school and dancing took it over from there," he said. "There was something so magical about being able to express my individuality and emotions through this art. This is what made me appreciate Michael Jackson's artistry when I got to Cirque, the ability to make you feel something."

The performer wasn't exactly a fan of Jackson before he became part of the show, but it didn't take long for that to change.

"Being able to appreciate the attention to detail in his artistry from composing songs, to performing them, to the choreography, videography, and acting," he said. "He really encompassed the term 'true artist'. I immediately fell in love with his legacy and felt the responsibility to carry it forwards through this show."

Performer A'Lexus Crooms, 28, has been with the show for nearly two years.

"I want people to know that this show is nostalgically electrifying so much so that you will dance, sing, and maybe get a little emotional," Crooms shared with The Blast. "During our finale, 'Black or White,' we get to mingle with the audience to greet patrons. This happens often, I experience kids in the audience in full Michael Jackson swag grooving just like him. I try my best to have a dance party with them so they know they are seen. I live for moments like this as a performer. It also puts me in awe of the legend icon I work for."

Crooms explained that so much goes into this production, much of which the audience doesn't even get to see.

"The best part of this show is definitely the people I get to share the experience with. That includes the backstage hands," Crooms explained. "It is astounding to me how theater works. The audience only sees the product from one perspective, when just behind the fourth wall there are hundreds of people at work, moving props, setting pieces, completing quick changes, and even rigging a rocket ship. Perfect example of organized chaos."

Having only been to one other Cirque du Soleil show, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. But had I gone to this show with any expectations, they would have instantly been blown away.

This show is something that isn't easy to fully explain. Whether you're a Jackson fan or not, this is a MUST SEE show. From the costumes, the iconic music, incredible dances and acrobatics, and the holographic-like appearance of Michael Jackson, there's so much energy, emotion, and nostalgia from start to end.

If you asked me what my favorite part of the show was, I couldn't pinpoint one moment or specific thing, but when Jackson appeared on the stage in hologram form with the dancers surrounding him, it was an emotionally charged moment.  It truly felt that Jackson was there performing, adding a surreal and unforgettable moment for any fan.

When you go to the show, be ready to dance in your seat, sing along to the popular Jackson tunes, and be in total awe of all that's going on around you.

"Michael Jackson ONE" performs Thursday through Monday at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. They offer a "Michael Jackson ONE" VIP Experience to meet some of the performers, and there is merchandise for sale just outside the theater so die-hard fans can take home a piece of the action.

While this show is great for children, under 5 is not permitted, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
