"I will forever be grateful for that night at Coco Deville. I would never have known I wanted kids until meeting my amazing stepdaughter, Isabella."
She explained that her bond with her stepdaughter changed her life and eventually welcomed her into motherhood years later. Mellencamp concluded in the emotional post by writing:

Well, Mellencamp's cordial stance on Instagram may not reflect in their living arrangement. In fact,The Blast shared that the TV personality temporarily relocated to Kyle Richards' home.
She disclosed the information earlier in the month on the premiere episode of her new podcast, in which she declared to her co-host, "So I live at Kyle's."
The information shocked Erika Jayne who stated: "Do you really? Holy s–t!" Mellencamp then joked about staying in Richards' "glam room" and suggested they start filming their podcast there.
Jayne nodded in approval, thinking Richards would love the company, as she lives in an "empty" house anyway. She clarified that she and Arroyave were currently "nesting" — a divorce term she claimed meant the children stayed at home while the parents took turns leaving the family home.
The trio seem to share something in common, which may explain their seamless friendship. Richards is currently estranged from her husband, Mauricio Umansky. Jayne also pulled the plug on her marriage to Tom Girardi in 2020.

The podcaster explained that Richards had helped her maintain her sanity and stay grounded amid the divorce, offering words of encouragement and support.
According to her, Richards explained to her that the most challenging aspect of a divorce was how it affected the children. Richards reportedly discussed her daughters with Umansky and admitted that, despite being grown, they had a difficult time processing their parents' separation.
She then advised Mellencamp to take public opinion with a pinch of salt and place her children at the center of her priorities.
"So, I think you can just, you just have to focus on your kids ... You have to tune out the noise," Richards stated. Richards' words of wisdom came days after her pal announced her divorce on Instagram, writing:
"After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter."
The Bravo Star Did Not Celebrate Thanksgiving With Arroyave
Mellencamp moved in with Richards and chose a new tradition for this year's Thanksgiving celebrations. The star and her kids decided to spend the festivities at her father, John Mellencamp's home, leaving Arroyave to bond with his eldest daughter, Isabella.
The estranged couple's Thanksgiving arrangement came after they figured out their child custody settlement. When the TV personality filed for divorce, she requested full custody of their kids, but the duo finally agreed to share custody.
The arrangement matched Mellencamp's commitment to prioritizing the well-being of her children, as her best pal, Richards, rightly advised.

We have 2 options, pretend to be a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness," Mellencamp began.
She added: "I have cried and mourned. I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong." The star also explained that she has also given herself "permission to grow and thrive" from the experience.
Mellencamp emphasized that she would "not pander to the media and tell my side because in the big scheme of things. Clickbait means nothing, and of course 3 sides to every story."
