Kelly Osbourne Shares Health Update While Battling A Severe Fever

Kelly Osbourne is opening up about her health struggles, sharing an update with fans as she fights through a persistent 100.2-degree fever. The TV personality and daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne took to social media to provide insight into her current condition.

The update comes as Kelly Osbourne continues to balance her busy schedule, including her role as a mother to her son Sidney, whom she shares with Slipknot's Sid Wilson.

The former reality star shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday that she's currently feeling unwell, battling a 100.2-degree fever. “Still going strong. I have put ice on my body, taken meds, tried to sweat it out in the bath and nothing is working!” she shared alongside a photo of her thermometer.

Osbourne provided further details in a follow-up video on her Instagram Stories, saying, “Day three of having a fever and a little cough.” She then expressed her frustration with her slow recovery:

“Babies bounce back so quickly, but I don’t seem to be at all. I don’t want to be sick anymore.”

The Emmy Award winner revealed that after taking her son to the doctor, they both received a diagnosis of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), explaining the lingering symptoms they’ve been experiencing.

RSV is a common virus that infects the lungs and respiratory tract. In fact, most children encounter the virus by the time they turn 2 years old. However, RSV isn’t limited to children—it can also infect adults, according to The Mayo Clinic. For healthy adults and older children, RSV typically presents with mild symptoms similar to those of a common cold, and simple self-care measures are usually enough to manage any discomfort.

However, RSV can lead to severe infections in certain vulnerable groups, including infants under 12 months (especially those born prematurely), older adults, individuals with heart or lung conditions, and those with weakened immune systems (immunocompromised).

Osbourne also revealed that Sidney is battling a double ear infection alongside RSV.

"He’s such a trooper, and he’s doing so good," the reality television alum shared, praising her son’s resilience despite the challenging circumstances.

Kelly has previously opened up about a health battle both she and her son went through together. In 2023, she revealed that not only was she battling the flu herself, but Sidney, who was 8-months-old at the time, was facing the same illness.

Before welcoming her son, the television personality shared with People Magazine that she felt "terrified, but absolutely excited" about embarking on the journey of motherhood. "I don't want to be a perfect mom, but I want to be the best mom that I can be, so I overthink absolutely everything," she said of welcoming a baby into the world.
