Chris Pratt has one of the most successful career transformations in Hollywood. The 42-year-old actor started out with supporting roles before becoming a leading man thanks “Guardians of the Galaxy.” After his performance as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Pratt has become a fan favorite with Marvel Comics fans. He’s reprised his Guardians role for the film’s sequel and for the 2019 flick “Avengers: Endgame.”
Pratt’s transition into Hollywood leading man has won him over with the ladies. He and his first wife, actress Anna Faris were married from July 2009 to August 2017, and share a son named Jack. In June 2019, he married Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. Chris and Katherine’s daughter Lyla was born over a year later in August 2020.
Transformation For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’
Early in his career, Pratt had supporting roles in various films. He would then gain attention on the NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation,” in which he played Andy Dwyer. However, it wouldn’t be until 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” when Pratt’s fame would rise. “Guardians” would be Pratt’s biggest role and one he worked hard for.
Pratt was known to be a bit on the chubby side. Yet, in order to get the role of Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” the star slimmed down. With intense workouts and diet alterations, Pratt managed to lose 60 lbs.
Pratt’s workouts consisted of running, boxing, swimming, and kickboxing. As for his diet, the actor drunk more water and switched to a 4,000 calories a day intake. The hard work paid off for Pratt. When fans saw him in the film, he was supporting a muscular physique along with a six pack of abs.
Secret To Pratt’s Weight Loss
After seeing Pratt’s jaw-dropping transformation, everyone wanted to know what his secret was. Pratt says the main thing to getting into shape is dedication and time. “You can’t do it in a month,” the star admitted when asked about his routine.
Pratt says that the transformation into his new slender, muscular physique took time. The actor confesses it took him about eight months to get into shape. Although, it’s a lot of work; the actor says with time, motivation, consistent workouts, and proper nutrition can help anyone get into shape.
Chris Hemsworth Gives Him A Run For His Money
Pratt definitely made the ladies swoon with his ripped physique. But one of his Marvel co-stars is giving him a run for his money. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel films got into shape to play the superhero again.
For his workout, Hemsworth complete rigorous exercises to get jacked for Thor. In an Instagram video posted by the star, Hemsworth is seen lifting weights, kettleballs, and throwing a medicine ball. That’s just a sneak peek of what’s to come when Hemsworth reveals his new Centr Power workout program, which drops on June 21st.
Pratt, who’s set to team up with Hemsworth again for the next “Thor” film, had nothing but nice things to say about his co-star. “Hemsworth is great, he’s so good,” Pratt praised his pal while talking about working together. “So I was just in awe of his presence. He is a man-god in real life. It was just cool to be there with him.”
Reprising ‘Guardians’ Role
Pratt will once again reprise his “Guardians” role of Star-Lord in the upcoming flick Thor: Love and Thunder. It’s going to be another battle of the Chrises as Pratt and Hemsworth team up together. Although, Hemsworth is the leading man in the Marvel movie, Pratt may give him some competition.
Although, fans are ecstatic about the new Thor film, they’ll have to wait a while. The movie isn’t scheduled to be released until May 2022. However, fans can still see them onscreen. Pratt’s film “The Tomorrow War” will be released next month, and Hemsworth’s new film “Escaper from Spiderhead” is due out later this year.
