Luckily, months after filming concluded, the couple is now in a much better place.
During an interview with Extra‘s Rachel Lindsay, formerly of “The Bachelor,” Melissa offered an update on her marriage, confirming that “they’re good,” despite the concerns for their future that she expressed on the show.

Melissa Gorga Admitted Reality Television Isn’t Easy
“I think especially just watching this season, we’re like, ‘Wow, okay, we need to tighten it up a little bit,’ because the end of the day reality TV is not easy,” Melissa said, according to a report from PEOPLE. “It’s not easy to share our lives with everyone, but I will say, we’re a pretty amazing couple.”
“When you have all these other opinions, always getting thrown at you and obviously work takes me to the left while he’s to the right, so it’s a struggle,” she added.
Joe Gorga Prefers For His Wife Stay Home With Their Family
During “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” season 11, Joe was seen expressing his frustrations with Melissa’s busy career, admitting that he preferred his wife to be at home with their three kids, including daughter Antonia, 15, and sons Gino, 13, and Joey, 10.
The couple also butted heads in front of their co-stars after he reacted badly to Melissa walking out of a restaurant before he did.
“I would just like my wife to wait for me and you just walk away like you don’t even have a husband,” he told his wife at the time.

“From now on, you just go by yourself while I just walk in the back. We used to be so attached and I’m still like that. She’s just changed. You turned into this different businesswoman,” Joe continued.
After hitting it big on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Melissa opened her own store, Envy boutique, in 2016, and has been busy with life outside of her home ever since.
“If I have a little success in my personal life, it’s not against you. Let your wife have a little something that’s my own. It doesn’t mean I don’t love you,” Melissa explained to Joe of her life as a career woman.

During the season 11 finale, Melissa admitted to feeling unhappy with Joe’s efforts to keep her home.
“I don’t want to die unhappy. I wanna feel fulfilled, not just as a mom,” she said. “I’ve never seen Joe fight so hard against something that I want. So I am feeling really scared about our relationship because I’ve never felt this exhaustion and feeling of giving up.”
Melissa, Joe, and her cast mates are currently in production on the upcoming 12th season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” which is expected to air sometime later this year.
