The spinoff “Raising Kanan” is centered around Kanan Stark, a role earlier played by 50 Cent in the original series in the Power universe.
Kanan Stark is a 15-year-old kid growing up in Queens. The movie is set in the 90s and depicts a series of events that turned an innocent soul into a gangster.
However, 50 Cent is acting in this spinoff, but it’s still unknown if there are future plans to include himself in the plot.
Are 50 Cent & Canan Stark The Same?
Producer Courtney Kemp made the fact known that “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is not the same as the original “Power” series that involved Ghost, his family and his best friend.
Speaking about the character, Kanan to “Deadline,” 50 Cent said;
“You’ll see his very first fight, things that eventually turned him into the character that you see in Power.”
Because of this and many other details that pointed at 50 Cents’ upbringing, fans are certain that the Kanan character tells the story of the rapper when he was younger.
