Frankie Grande is officially off the market as he just got engaged!
Frankie popped the question to boyfriend, Hale Leon, on Tuesday, June 8. The Broadway star had close friends and family in attendance including his and Ariana’s mom, Joan Grande.
Congratulations to the gorgeous couple!
It also appears Ariana was in attendance as she celebrated the big moment by posting some behind the scenes moments on her Instagram story.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Grande family dynamic, Frankie is Ariana’s older brother. The two are both singers, actors, dancers and everything in between.
Basically, they were born for the stage!
The “Big Brother” star, and literal big brother of Ariana, is known for going over the top with everything he does, so clearly he didn’t hold back with this proposal.
According to a People exclusive, Frankie popped the question to Hale with a virtual reality (VR) proposal.
Frankie will be celebrating his four-year sober anniversary on June 16, so he told Hale they were meeting up with friends to celebrate his sober-versary a few days early.
Very sneaky!
But to Hale’s surprise, it was a celebration for their ENGAGEMENT!
According to People, the proposal went down at Dreamscape, an immersive VR adventure in Los Angeles, California.
This spot holds a special place in both Hale and Frankie’s hearts as it was the spot of one of their first dates.
Frankie reportedly worked with the VR fantasy world company to create a custom ending to the couple’s virtual reality experience, complete with a “Will you marry me?” message and intergalactic virtual fireworks.
Frankie told People, “It was such a perfect, beautiful moment.”
He revealed this proposal has been a year in the making telling People, “Hale was completely surprised and we both started crying tears of joy. I have been working on proposing to him in virtual reality for over a year and it was ABSOLUTELY breathtaking for us both.”
And for the superfans dying to see how this all came to life, there’s a video on the way!
Frankie & Hale met in 2019 at a line dancing bar called ‘Oil Can Harry’s.’
Frankie recalls seeing Hale onstage dancing and performing for everybody.
The LGBTQ activist noted, “He loves to go to Oil Can Harry’s he knew all the dances, I was blown away.”
“It was definitely love at first dance,” he added. “I chased him down to meet him afterwards but he disappeared to fix his hair.”
Even better news, he is adored by Frankie’s entire family, including his Nonna who can be a tough cookie to crack.
Cheers to forever!
