Heather Thomson claims she was on Eboni K. Williams‘ side during last Tuesday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
Amid a new interview, Thomson, who took on a part-time role on the Bravo reality series in late 2020, ahead of production on season 13, made it clear that she didn’t agree with what went down between the newest cast member of the show and longtime series star Luann de Lesseps.
“I was on Eboni’s side,” Thomson told Us Weekly on June 7.
Heather Thomson Believes Luann de Lesseps Should Have Known Better
After watching as Williams accused de Lesseps of labeling her an “angry Black woman” on the show, Thomson told the magazine that de Lesseps “should know better” than to treat someone in that way, especially considering the current climate of the nation and the ongoing calls for racial justice.
“Based on where we are today and based on what her experiences have been — you know, showing up in blackface, these sort of things — [she should have] sensitivities toward a trigger word, which is calling a Black woman angry,” Thomson explained.
Luann De Lesseps Targeted Heather Thomson In Her Cabaret Shows
Continuing on to the magazine, Thomson said that she and de Lesseps were never close friends.
“We weren’t really friends. I’d be out in the Hamptons and we would never get together where I would, you know, [see] the other women,” Thomson noted.
In fact, she added, de Lesseps took aim at her in a number of her cabaret shows in recent years.
“It wasn’t just one show. It was, like, 15 shows that happened,” Thomson shared.
Still, she encouraged de Lesseps and Williams to listen to one another during their feud.
Eboni K. Williams’ Fight With Luann De Lesseps Was ‘Tough’
While the women’s encounter was quite ugly, and resulted in de Lesseps throwing Williams out of her home, Thomson said that their conversation offered an important lesson about racism.
“I did my best to explain to both sides, both of the women, you know why this is bigger than us,” she said. “Like, we have a moment here.”
Days ago, during her own interview, Williams opened up about her fight with de Lesseps, acknowledging that it was a “tough” situation to go through on camera.
“It did affect, I think very much so, my relationship with Luann and it took a long time for us to kind of get to a place of any kind of repair around it,” she admitted.
Eboni K. Williams Lost Trust In Luann De Lesseps After The Dispute
“I think there was a question mark on both ends around trust. Can I trust your intentions for me as a woman, as a person?” Williams told Us Weekly on the Friday, June 4, episode of their “Getting Real with the Housewives” podcast. “In a friendship, it’s hard to have an authentic connection when there’s a lack of trust.”
