Nene Leakes recently appeared on the YouTube series, “Hollywood Unlocked,” where she addressed the recent engagement of Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia, and explained why her longtime friend, Marlo Hampton, does not deserve a full-time role on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
“I think it looks bad,” Leakes said of Williams and Guobadia’s engagement news, according to a June 6 report from Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
As “RHOA” fans well know, Williams and Guobadia announced their engagement in May, just weeks after Guobadia confirmed he had split from Falynn Guobadia, who is also featured on the show.

According to Leakes, she feels Williams and Guobadia’s engagement looks back because Williams had a working relationship throughout the 13th season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
“I could believe that Porsha did not know the girl. But it looks bad… because they did work together. They did travel together so she did get to know her, and she did visit the girl’s home.”
Williams and Guobadia announced their engagement on Instagram on May 10 with the mother of one confirming that the two of them had dated for just one month.

“Our relationship began a month ago–yes we are crazy in love. I know it’s fast but we are living each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes. He makes me so happy and to me, that is what matters most,” Williams wrote at the time.
Then, in another segment of her post, she details the timeline of her relationship with Guobadia.
“For all of you that need facts, I get the optics but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them,” she noted.

Also during her interview on “Hollywood Unlocked,” Leakes was confronted about the possibility of Hampton being added to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast in a full-time role for its upcoming 14th season.
“No I disagree,” Leakes said when the upgraded role was mentioned, according to a report shared by Bossip.
“The reason I disagree is because if you’ve been doing something for so long, I don’t see the network giving you a peach,” Leakes explained. “I am just speaking from my eyes and the way I view the network and the way television works. You have given everything for this amount of pay. Why do they need to give you a peach?”

Leakes went on to say that she doesn’t believe Hampton’s contribution would change if her role was upgraded.
“For what? What’s going to change? They’re getting everything they need right now. What are they gonna get when they give you a peach? All they’re going to get is a photo of you holding a peach,” she stated.
