For those who haven’t kept up with the latest UFC matches or related news, it may come as a surprise to learn that YouTube sensation Logan Paul and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather recently had an exhibition match. A match that lasted 8 rounds!
Critics are already claiming that the match wasn’t really a serious bout between the two athletes, but the idea of this match was highly lucrative.
Logan expected to make over $250,000 and Mayweather even more. Because of how popular the Pay-Per-View was for the event, many are wondering whether there will be a rematch.

‘Nothing To Prove’
Logan (26) has only ever fought one other fighter before Floyd, causing many to believe that Mayweather was going easy on him. When criticisms arose about the match, Floyd said that he had “Nothing to prove”, defending how he fought.
Paul is on the opposite spectrum, being treated more like a kid who wanted to do something with his idol. During the following press conference, he shared that he thinks “Surviving against Floyd Mayweather is great”.
What makes this even more controversial is that Paul is supposedly the winner of the match.

As the match has received greater publicity, more critics and outlets have taken to pointing out the obvious flaws of the event. Most noticeably is the fact that Floyd is 44-years-old, nearly double Paul’s.
When asked about fighting the blond newcomer, the formerly retired fighter shared that he “had fun” fighting someone in his 20s.
His response has caused considerable backlash from fans who felt that the match was nothing more than a glorified stage performance since Floyd was easily the better fighter.
The fact is, Floyd landed 43 blows, to Paul’s 28. (Floyd threw 107 punches while Paul threw 217!)
Fans believe judges would have called Floyd the winner, not Paul.
‘I Had Fun’
The press wanted to know if a rematch was expected, but the answer was vague at best.
“We don’t know what the future holds, I have to talk to my team,” Floyd said. “I’m not 25 anymore but I had fun.”
A response ties in well to many critiques that fans have of the event, that it wasn’t a serious fight at all.
That being said, the media coverage of this match was highly entertaining. After Floyd landed several punches on Paul before they ever entered the ring, Paul capitalized on the violent interaction by creating “gotcha hats”, as a poetic revenge against Floyd.
This caused a social media explosion with many influencers using “gotcha hats” in various ways.

There is already talk about whether Paul will continue his career in MMA or boxing, and it doesn’t look like he has plans to retire anytime soon.
“I was grabbing him, yeah,” Paul told reporters, “I’d do MMA, for sure, because I am a good grappler. You know, I’m a wrestler at heart.”
After seeing Floyd go toe-to-toe with Paul (who was significantly heavier than him) some wonder whether the 44-year-old legend could go up against some of his old rivals!
