Dwayne Johnson, possibly better known as “The Rock”, has never been more popular. The 49-year-old “Jumanji” actor has over 242 million Instagram followers, and has an estimated net worth of over $320 million as of June 2021.
The studly, former wrestler gone actor, continues to entertain his large audience with updates of himself working out, enjoying various alcoholic beverages, to new acting roles as they come.
His latest update is about “self-care”, and how to “go big or go home!” (Rather fitting considering his body image)
Not Always ‘The Rock’
Dwayne’s workout routine, diet, and mental health are outstanding, but it wasn’t always that way.
Today, Dwayne is considered a staple of celebrity culture, practically inventing the buff-actor image alongside legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Although he has gone to great lengths to create the most bodacious and healthy lifestyle possible, he has struggled with depression in the past.
In fact, he had an interview with The Daily Express where he revealed that he had been struggling with depression and lackluster motivation for years!

“Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed,” Johnson said in the interview. “I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.”
Johnson went on to share how he wasn’t comfortable talking about his emotional health until he came to terms with how bad it had gotten.
“We all go thru the sludge/sh– and depression never discriminates,” he wrote. “Took me a long time to realize it but the key is to not be afraid to open up.”
Moving Past Hard Times
Amazingly, Dwayne didn’t just struggle with emotional obstacles either, it was revealed via Business Insider that he became Hollywood’s top paid actor after years of adversity and strife.
Originally, before breaking into acting, Johnson received horrible injuries that caused him to never achieve his dreams of becoming a professional NFL player.
“”The dreams I had, they’re dashed,” he recalled later. “There is no more football. My relationship was crushed. That was my absolute worst time.”
These revelations were even more astonishing after seeing one of his latest posts describing how he has taken lengths to improve his mental health by fishing!

The video was captioned by Dwayne saying:
“So good to get away to my farm this past weekend to decompress, take mental inventory and of course – spend time with my babies 😊🎣
I’ve been raising my fish for over a decade now – largemouth bass, stripped bass, trout, carp, sunfish etc.
Work closely with a great team of university biologists ensuring a thriving ecosystem for the fish to live.
All my fish are fat, healthy, happy and AGGRESSIVE TO EAT – like their owner 🤣👊🏾
I fell in love with fishing when I was a little boy, so quiet time like this away from the noise means everything to me.
And a little reminder to all you guys of the importance of “self care” 👈🏾 👍🏾”
