Vanessa Bryant has definitely done a phenomenal job of staying strong over the last year a half. Her life changed completely on January 26, 2020. This was due to her husband, Kobe Bryant, and her 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, dying in a plane crash in Calabasas, CA. Seven others were on board as they were all heading to a basketball game, which was going to feature Gianna and several of her teammates that were on that plane. Inclement weather ended up playing a huge role in the plane losing control.
Vanessa Expresses Frustration Over Someone Having Pair Of Gianna Nike Sneakers
Vanessa has also been trending on Thursday, after she found out that someone got a hold of a pair of custom Gianna Mambacita Nike sneakers that were never supposed to be sold by Nike. Vanessa took to her Instagram feed to ask who this is. She also added that she doesn’t have any of these sneakers herself.
“In the 2nd photo, it appears someone already has Gigi’s MAMBACITA shoe in their possession. If someone can share how they have these shoes in their possession, that would be great because my daughters and I don’t have any of Gigi’s MAMBACITA shoes.”
Vanessa Does Not Want These Sneakers Sold By Nike
“I wanted it to be sold to honor my daughter with ALL of the proceeds benefiting [Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation] but did not re-sign the Nike contract and decided not to sell these shoes.”
“Nike has NOT sent any of these pairs to me and my girls. I do not know how someone else has their hand on shoes I designed to honor my daughter, Gigi…I hope these shoes did not get sold @nike.”
Fans Fully Support Vanessa
In Vanessa’s Instagram comments, they were full with nothing but support for her. Many believe that she should pursue legal action, in the event that Nike did start selling these sneakers behind her back. Others simply believe that these sneakers that a fan got their hands on is a replica, and had a different pair of Kobe Bryant Nike sneakers painted over. In the end, Nike could in fact face this lawsuit if the truth isn’t told about whether they’ve been selling this Gianna sneaker or not.
Kobe Bryant Was Inducted Into Basketball Hall Of Fame Last Month
Last month was another emotional one for Vanessa and the rest of the Bryant family. Kobe ended up finally being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. This came after the 2020 class‘ ceremony was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Other members of this class included Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Tamika Catchings. Vanessa gave a beautiful speech and was also joined on stage by Michael Jordan, who was very close with Kobe for years.
