Lisa Vanderpump opened up about what fans can expect to see from the upcoming ninth season of her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” spinoff, “Vanderpump Rules,” during an interview with Gibson Johns on “In the Know” on June 3.
Weeks into production on the new episodes, Vanderpump said that the returning members of the show, which do not include longtime stars Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, and Brittany Cartwright, have picked up right where they left off.
“Even though we’ve just started filming a while ago, already… wow!” she exclaimed.

“It just never stops. It really does feel like these people have been locked up as well. [That energy is] very much so [apparent],” Vanderpump continued.
While the “Vanderpump Rules” cast typically begins filming new seasons in the summer, they were unable to film season nine last year after the coronavirus pandemic led to the shutdowns of all four of Vanderpump’s restaurants, including SUR Restaurant, where the series is based.

Lisa Vanderpump Teases ‘Full-On’ Drama
According to Vanderpump, she and her co-stars are already a good way through season nine in terms of production. And, already, a lot of big personalities have been featured on camera.
“We’re probably just about a quarter of the way through filming, and it really is full-on. There are a lot of opinions, there are a lot of dynamics, and it’s moving very, very quickly, I have to say,” she explained.
Although Vanderpump felt that the cast may be a bit “sleepier” after coming through the pandemic, she told Johns that was far from the case.
Issues Were Festering Amongst The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cast Amid The Pandemic
“I thought maybe they’d be a little sleepier after COVID, but they’re not. They’re not,” Vanderpump promised.
Instead, she said that a number of complications between her cast members flourished as they sat stagnant in 2020, waiting for restrictions on their places of work to be lifted.
“There are definitely a lot of complicated dynamics, and certainly some things have been festering through COVID that people want to get off their chests,” she stated.
All in all, Vanderpump said “Vanderpump Rules” is an “amazing show.”
