Most will recognize Chip and Joanna Gaines from the hit Real Estate show, “Fixer Upper” (which aired from 2013 to 2018). The pair made a bombastic match, creating a TV personality duo. Married in 2003, these two lovers now have 5 children and have acquired a large social media following.
Chip found phenomenal synergy with his wife which made it possible for them to create passionate entrepreneurial projects together. Joanna has actually exceeded her husband in some cases, becoming even more popular online than he is! (She also looks good in a bikini!)
18 Years!
Chip, 46, and Joanna, 43, have a fascinating backstory. The pair went to the same college but never knew each other. It is said that Chip originally found out about her at her father’s auto repair shop, where a picture of her caught his eye.
Apparently he fell in love with the sight of her and they were introduced to one another not long after.
And now, the pair have just celebrated their 18th Anniversary of marriage together!
Joanna shared a loving video showing that they had been on a romantic trip together.
‘On This Adventure’
Joanna shared that she adores her husband, (who isn’t as active on his social media) and was thrilled to go on a trip together in celebration.
“18 years. Thankful to be on this adventure with you—happy anniversary”
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple shared that they feel so supported by one another.
Chip shared that he believes his wife “saved him” and even shared how he was like a dog chasing its tail aimlessly. A lack of focus and too much anxiety in life was what he had until she came into the picture.
‘Such An Idiot’
“I was like a dog chasing his tail in a circle, trying to be all the things for all the people and I can just, beyond a shadow of a doubt, quickly say [Joanna] grounded me,” he said. “And it’s almost like the dog then saw the tennis ball or whatever and calmed down.”
“I was just such an idiot and I was just so anxious and so excitable,” Chip added.
Joanna shared that Chip had a different effect on her, helping her to live life in a more purpose oriented manner. Living in the moment.
‘Savoring These Moments’
“I’m more operational [and can] click into, like, a robotic mode and just show up and do the thing and forget the why a lot of the times — forget the joy,” she explained to Oprah, 67. “To find the joy in that moment.”
“And Chip is always teaching me if you’re not having fun, if you’re not enjoying and savoring these moments, then why are you doing it?” Joanna added. “And he also pushes me to do it.”
Joanna also gave he thoughts about this year in 2021. Check out that article below!
