Who doesn’t love a sequel to the best movies ever!
Although sometimes fans think that a sequel for certain movies is unnecessary, other times, they know that it will be the best experience ever.
Usually, some people decline viewing the sequel to a movie because they know that it has the potential to decrease the value of the original film, which may not be pleasant.
However, whatever the reason that fans have to reject a sequel, it’s not happening here.
Queen Latifah recently walked very dangerous path, when she let her fans ache with laughter and excitement, after revealing a shocking detail during an interview.
How Successful Was ‘Girls Trip?’
The 2017 American comedy film; “Girls Trip,” starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish was one of the most popular movies in the industry.
The movie was highly anticipated and when it dropped, it was absolute fire.
Not only did it bring women together, to show love and support for one other, it also brought four incredibly funny and smart women with very entertaining personalities to our TV screens.
The film was rated 91 percent by the tomato meter, and like every great movie, it faced rejuvenating criticisms.
The First Run
The film revolved around four college friends who took a weekend out to have fun with each other and relax in Debauchery New Orleans.
Rumors about the movie having a sequel has been going on over the past few years since 2017.
When the cast members showed interest in the initial run, they knew that they were going to have a lot of fun filming the movie.
Now it seems like the prayers of some fans have finally been answered.
Latifah revealed plans are being made regarding the shooting of the sequel, which is going to be quite exciting.
Another Run Very Soon
During an interview on “The Tamron Hall Show,” regarding her movie on CBS titled “The Equalizer,” Latifah, finally gave fans what they had been longing to hear.
She disclosed her plans for a sequel saying: “I mean, we just got the word that perhaps it may be happening sooner rather than later.”
“I mean, I was ready to jump on it immediately, so it needed to be right. But everybody, we’re all down for the second one.”
She says “something promising is close,” fingers crossed.
Everyone On Board
If the other cast members were not down with a sequel, then it would led to disagreements. However, just as Latifah, her co-stars are all down for a sequel.
But, all they are waiting for is the right call, to tell them to get to work.
In 2018, Hall spoke about the possibility of a sequel on “Entertainment Tonight,” saying;
“Listen, it’s a go in that we all want to and we’re all ready. It’s just a matter of] the scheduling and just wanting the script to be amazing because… the girls did a lot, so we gotta come with it.”
Hopefully filming would begin soon.
