When you’re born into royalty there are certain benefits that you’re going to have that won’t be afforded to other citizens. Apparently, you’ll be able to keep these privileges even if you go on constant rants about how your family is the worst in every way!
The way that Prince Harry was told about the death of his grandfather Prince Philip clearly shows that he hangs on to some royal benefits. Even though he’s trying his hardest to distance himself from the firm!
According to information obtained by TMZ and confirmed by other sources on the day of Prince Philip’s death someone from the US embassy directly rang up Prince Harry. If the US embassy had your personal house number that would be pretty scary. In this case, though, the royals are watched over quite closely.
The problem was Prince Philip died around 11 am London time. That’s around 3 am in California. Therefore the phone at Meghan and Harry’s went unanswered. The embassy had to find a way to quickly alert the Prince!
That morning must have been a really awkward one for Harry and Meghan. Not just because when they ultimately found out they had to deal with the grief. You get a call at 3 am that you don’t answer and you’re ultimately awakened by a Police officer at your door.
Since the embassy was not able to get in touch with Prince Harry they called up the Santa Barbara sheriff’s office who then had a deputy drive down to Prince Harry’s house. According to reports the officer told him to get in touch with the embassy, but did not directly tell him the news!
Apparently, the family did not want Harry to find out the news through social media. Which begs the question, why didn’t they just send him a text or call him directly? Did they really need to send a cop over to his house? There are more effective means of communication these days.
In any case, the official announcement of the death of Prince Philip was made public at noon London time. This means if Harry woke up and checked his phone there’s a good chance he found out the news before he ever got back to the Embassy anyway.
Even though he now makes a living trashing his own family Prince Harry reportedly still is entitled to receive some inheritance from his late grandfather. That money could serve him well, as his daddy cut off his allowance a while back.
It’s unclear how much money will go to Harry from Prince Philip’s personal wealth. Which is estimated to be around 42 million dollars. The money is meant to be split between The Queen, her children, and grandchildren as well as some of the Prince’s staff. Therefore, there’s a good chance, not a ton of cash will trickle down to Harry!
