The new revelations made by Prince Harry about the Royal Family in his Apple TV series “The Me You Can’t See” have raised eyebrows about what really goes on behind palace walls. A source close to the Royals mentioned that Harry actually got his grandmother’s blessing for the project.
Harry presented the idea to her back in 2018. At the time the Queen signed off on the project. Since Harry was still a full-time royal at the time he had to get her permission for these types of things.
If Harry had told his grandmother that he was going to go on different shows and podcasts to talk about the family there’s no way that he would’ve gotten her “blessing”. What Palace insiders are saying is that the most likely scenario is that Harry pitched the show as one that would explore the mental health issues of servicemen and women.
According to the Daily Mail’s source, “Harry had been vocal about the importance of military veterans getting the right mental health support after returning to civilian life,”
This was probably the center of his pitch to the Queen. He conveniently left out the part where he was planning on trashing the family. While making the whole story about him and making some of the other stories in the series lack the well deserved coverage.
At different points in the new interview with Oprah Harry talks about there being total neglect from his family. Mentioning that he had reached out to them for help through the years and had gotten no answer.
On the other hand, he describes that his life was essentially changed when he met Meghan Markle. Claiming that it was his relationship with her that convinced him to “go to the past and fix unresolved issues”. In short, the family is terrible and Meghan is a saint in Harry’s eyes!
As is most often the case there have been no direct statements from the Royals regarding Harry’s claims. At least not the new ones. Prince William did make a statement after the first Oprah interviewing saying they were “not a racist family”.
A palace insider tells the Daily Mail though, ‘No one within the Palace circles has anything but sympathy for Harry’s trauma and troubled life, but there is upset and discomfort at him sharing it on an international television show.”
In the series, Harry does talk about the decision to leave the Royal Family. Mentioning,
‘Making this move was really scary. At every possible opportunity, the forces working against us tried to make it impossible.”
It’s strange to think though that if Harry was already planning to make the move why would he waste time pitching the series to The Queen? Perhaps in his mind, it was a way to cover his actions. Since he can mention that the Queen was in the know about the series. To try and minimize the damage of what he continues to say.
