Mariska Magdolna Hargitay is a popular American actress, philanthropist and director. She is the daughter of movie stars, Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield.
She came into the spotlight after appearing in a 1985 horror comedy titled “Ghoulies.” Now, she’s starring as Captain Olivia Benson in the NBC crime series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
Recently, Hargitay opened up about series of injuries that she found out about after getting an MRI. In her Instagram, she posted that some of these injuries included; a broken knee and torn ligament.

Mariska Hargitay Reveals Several Broken Bones In Her Body
On May 19, 2021, the actress posted aa photo of herself outside the Hospital For Special Surgery (HSS), wearing a black blouse and cream-colored short. But that is not what caught the attention of her fans.
The photo also showed the “Prince Street” actress wearing a brace on her left ankle and the other on her right knee. She went ahead to reveal that these injuries were revealed in an MRI, but luckily for her, the doctors said she did not need surgery.
Fans were distraught by the Instagram post and wished the actress speedy recovery.
What Happened To Mariska Hargitay?
After the news of her injuries broke out, fans wondered what could have happened to warrant such major injuries on her body? However, in her statement, Hargitay said that the injuries did not happen while she was on set.
She also joked in her Instagram post saying; #YouShouldSeeTheOtherGuy
All Hargitay was grateful for, was the fact that she just needed a little time to heal and not have to do surgeries. While this was incredible news, thousands of fans still wondered what really happened to her.
Hargitay Says She Didn’t Know About The Injuries
A few days after her initial post, Hargitay decided to clarify the rumors about her injuries online. She noted that the headlines she saw were alarming, and she wanted to put a stop to it as soon as possible.
She mentioned that prior to getting the MRI, she had no idea that she had sustained any injuries in her body.
Furthermore, she clarified that she was involved in a shooting scene on set two weeks ago, which was when she broke her knee and decided to get the MRI.
No Hospital Time
In another statement, Hargitay disclosed that she was not hospitalized for any of the injuries, instead, she was told to wear braces for a while because she did not need to have surgery.
Finally, the 57-year-old assured her fans that they did not need to worry about her as she was doing fine. She then thanked everyone for looking out and sending lover her way.
The actress may have a few broken bones, but she’s a tough person, and no doubt, will be feeling better soon.
