Ryan Seacrest was Mr. Popular on Instagram last night just hours before the much-anticipated Season 19 finale of “American Idol.” The 46-year-old host of the long-running competition series managed to make his pre-show promo casual and fun, updating on Sunday afternoon and for his 5.2 million followers. The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” producer was all smiles as he threw out the peace sign, and there was a fat load of humor as he joked about his “rehearsal pants.” Check it out below.
Scroll for the photo. Fans of Seacrest will have spotted the blue pattern pajama pants before. Ryan’s update came backstage and from the “Idol” set. The “Live! With Kelly and Ryan” face, who has been jetting back and forth between NYC and L.A. for his various high-profile appearances, wore his pants all baggy with two-tone sneakers, plus a light gray hoodie, side-quiffed hair, and a confident grin.
“In my rehearsal pants getting ready to crown the next @americanidol. #IdolFinale is live across the nation at 8p ET | 5p PT on ABC!” he wrote.
The comments section is basically showing one thing. Fans are 100% digging Ryan’s pants choice. “Cool pants Ryan! Let’s go Chayce!!” one fan replied, eyeing up now-winner Chayche Beckham. “[Love emoji] all of your pants!” another added, with a third chiming in: “Great pants Ryan! ❤️ Have a great show!”
Last night’s finale, seeing finalists Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence beaten by Chayce, also came with appearances from rapper Macklemore, band Fall Out Boy, and “The X Factor” winner Leona Lewis. More photos below.
Ryan, last year making headlines for ending 180 days of quarantine-set video filming on morning series “Live!” has opened up on “American Idol” filming amid the global pandemic. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the radio host revealed:
“The production again is going through [testing and safety] protocols, but it looks a lot more normal. The judges are spread apart, the contestants are spread apart, and I talk to them outside the door. But it looks like American Idol.” More photos after the jump.
Ryan, whose Instagram now comes packed with celebrity faces, has been busy including the “Idol” ones, not limited to judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, this as he gets the thumbs-up for his stylish Ralph Lauren sweaters and, it would seem, “rehearsal” pants. Seacrest has also been joking about his pandemic achievements, posting from home by a Macbook and paint easel and writing:
“#tbt to March 22, 2020. Learning this new thing called Zoom. Adding 1 year of IT experience to my resume.” If you missed Ryan’s trespassing dog-walk, just scroll.
