Maroney, who recently underwent surgery for a procedure related to kidney stones, took to Instagram this week with the wisdom for her over 1 million followers on Instagram while sharing some beautiful selfies of herself lit up by that magic photographic aura known as the Golden Hour.
Revealing herself in a black blouse while lit up by the shining sun, McKayla Maroney wrote:
“Glowing skin is always in, but golden hour helps.”
She followed up the shiny shot with some glowing advice about staying motivated throughout the long work weeks.
“Motivation helps us get up in the morning, it helps us do the things we need to do to build a better life!” the gymnastics star wrote to her fans.
The 25-year-old gold medal champ also wrote that her motivational tips really do help her get more stuff done in her own life.
“I actively apply all of these tips because I know they work,” Maroney wrote.
“Choosing peace, love, gratitude and joy over drama, stress, negative thinking, and complaining.”
“Motivation flourishes in a restful state of mind. Therefore optimism and believing things will work themselves out is more. beneficial than stress and worry.”
“Know the things that are mentally draining for you, and limit them.”
“Set boundaries and stick to them. It will change your life. Long phone calls with negative people, driving in LA traffic everyday, and scrolling on the phone too much for example. These all steal from my energy and drain me.”
McKayla Maroney, who recently launched a health and wellness Instagram account, believes that stress in life can be directly related to appearance and stress on one’s own skin.
“Funny enough a lot of this is stress management. Which also helps our skin — Because you already know stress is one of the biggest acne causers,” she wrote.
Maroney added, “If I could eliminate all the stress in your life I would, but it seems we’re suppose to learn how to manage it ourselves. It’s a balance, but here at Glohe we love taking a mind and body approach to our skin because it just works.”
