Cardi B continues to be one of the most dominant artists in the world and this has been the case since 2017 when she broke out as a star with her “Bodak Yellow” single. Many anticipate that her sophomore album will finally be out sometime in 2021 as it’s been over three years since her debut, “Invasion Of Privacy,” was released. As the wait continues, fans continue to stream Cardi’s debut album as it remains one of the most successful debut albums of all-time.
‘Invasion Of Privacy’ Is Still Most Streamed Female Rap Album In Spotify History
According to Chart Data, “Invasion Of Privacy” surpassed 3.5 billion streams today on Spotify. This is also good enough for Cardi‘s album to still hold the record of being the most streamed female rap album in the streaming platform’s history. This record started back in December 2019 when IOP first accumulated 2.5 billion streams and it hasn’t looked back at all since then. Last fall, Cardi also reached the record for most monthly listeners by a female rapper in Spotify history.
Cardi’s Debut Album Had Some Of 2018’s Biggest Hits
“Invasion Of Privacy” dominated from the day that it was released and it was evident based on the success of its singles as well as new songs discovered by fans. Among the lead singles were “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” feat. J Balvin and Bad Bunny, “Bartier Cardi” feat. 21 Savage, and “Ring” feat. Kehlani. Bodak Yellow ended up reaching diamond status this spring and I Like It is very close to doing so as well as it is currently at 9x platinum.
Cardi Has Dominated In 2020 With ‘Up’ Single
In February, Cardi released her first solo single since 2019 with “Up.” This was an instant hit as it debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was also the highest debuting solo track by a female rapper this century. The previous one was Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” back in 1998. A month after Up‘s release, it finally reclaimed the top spot on the Hot 100 and was soon certified platinum in the United States as well.
Cardi Continues To Win Big With Brand Collaborations As Well
In addition to Cardi seeing massive success with her music as the world awaits her sophomore album, she is making impressive business moves as well. She has her own signature Reebok sneakers, which launched back in the fall of last year ahead of her 28th birthday. She was also featured in a Balenciaga ad campaign as billboards were placed in cities such as Los Angeles and Paris. Cardi went on to post these signs on social media as she was in awe of these accomplishments.
