Kylie Jenner‘s job is so unique to Earth that aliens couldn’t even comprehend it!
The makeup mogul admitted that her profession is tough to understand during an interview with tmrw Magazine on May 18. So tough, in fact, she doesn’t think sentient creatures from outer space could even grasp what she does. Jenner was asked to describe her job to extraterrestrials as part of the exclusive coffee table book edition of the zine entitled “BECOMING KYLIE JENNER.”
“I don’t think an alien would really understand what I do,” the 23-year-old mother laughingly admitted to tmrw. “I don’t know how you’d begin to describe what social media is.”
It seems like every member of the KarJenner clan knows how to do one thing, and they do it well… make money! However, Kylie was the first of the sisters to realize capitalize on social media. Since then, they all have followed suit.
Jenner has amassed a huge audience of 233 million followers on Instagram alone. That’s 12 million more than her older sister Kim. That essentially means Kylie can promote her products to a massive, passionate/activated fanbase. To put it in perspective, household brands pay millions of dollars for Super Bowl commercials, and the last one only had 91.6 million viewers. Kylie’s makeup demonstrations and product photos often reach many more eyes, something she doesn’t take lightly.
“I’m fully aware of the influence that I have, I try to be a good role model but I mostly just try to be myself,” she told tmrw. “I suddenly realised I had a big influence: I’d always had a strong fan base with the family, but when I started experimenting and these became trends, I think that’s when I realised the strength of my own influence.”
Jenner turned all her influence into real cash when she sold a majority stake of her cosmetics company for $600 million to Coty.
Her deal paved the way for Kim to sell her line to the same company with another groundbreaking purchase, but Jenner confessed that she looks up to her sisters and successful mother.
“Seeing how my mom deals with the balance of motherhood and business, she’s just the most accomplished woman I know,” Kyle said. “My mom did a really good job of raising us, so I think I really want to pass that on to Stormi, to be strong and independent.”
“There are so many strong women: growing up watching my older sisters and my mom was just incredible.”
