It looks like Gina Carano and Disney have called a truce, at least temporarily.
Carano is a Dallas-born 39-year-old former MMA-fighter-turned-actress who has over 1.9 million followers on Instagram.
“The Mandalorian” actress was dropped from season 3 of the show after a Lucasfilm representative posted a statement condemning Carano’s inflammatory tweets comparing conservatives to how Jews were treated during the Holocaust.
Although it seems unlikely that her character, Cara Dune, will make another appearance in the galaxy far, far away, Disney finally revealed a previously pulled episode of another series that Carano had starred in.
Running Wild
One of the most popular nature shows currently on air is the six-season National Geographic series, “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.”
This 10-episode season featured celebrity appearances from stars like Keegan-Michael Key, Anthony Mackie, and Terry Crews.
Although the “Star Wars” actress featured in one of these episodes, it was pulled following her “cancel culture” controversy.
Surprise Comeback
Although her episode wasn’t initially listed in the Disney+ release schedule, it was quietly updated later that day to include Carano’s unseen episode.
It’s unclear what prompted the move, although fans are speculating that star Bear Grylls might have had some influence in the decision, as Carano thanked him in a post she made regarding the announcement.
She also retweeted several messages from fans, including one that read, “I just finished watching @ginacarano & @BearGrylls take on the Dolomites. Who loved the fact that Gina was smiling all the way through, even when facing fears. There’s a message in that, climb the mountains & obsticles that life throws at you. Precious Episode! #GinaGoneWild”
#GinaGoneWild
Fans of the former MMA fighter took to Twitter after the announcement and started trending #GinaGoneWild to show their support for the actress.
The hashtag is filled with quotes the actress says on the show, including “I’ve just been learning out loud in front of the world,” which has been shared by many fans.
It seemed like a radical shift from the #FireGinaCarano hashtag, which had been trending worldwide several times before and prompted her removal from the “Star Wars” franchise.
Future Work
Although Carano is back for this one episode, it seems “unlikely” that Carano and Disney will work together in the future.
“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before,” she shared. “I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.”
After her public firing, Carano was immediately hired by Ben Shapiro’s “The Daily Wire” production company, which will help Carano develop and produce her own film.
Unfortunately, his company is not without controversy of its own. Keep scrolling to get the shocking details below!
