During Kentucky Derby weekend in Louisville, KY, earlier this month, a scary incident occurred at a local nightclub. This was a shooting at Vibes Restaurant and Ultra Lounge that left a 37-year-old woman dead along with a man being treated for his injuries at a local hospital. Jack Harlow was in that venue that night as well as his DJ, Ronnie Lucciano. (real name Ronnie O’Bannon.) The deceased victim ended up being identified as Kasmira Nash. Lucciano was indicted on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence. That night, Nash was working at that venue as a bartender
Harlow’s DJ Believes He Did Not Commit Any Crimes
According to a report by WDRB, Lucciano‘s attorney says that he was the one attacked by Nash that night in Louisville. This supposedly happened multiple times that night. This is after Lucciano was said to have been the one who shot and killed Nash in that nightclub.
“There seems considerable evidence at this point that Mr. O’Bannon was attacked not once, but twice at Vibes Club by the deceased in this case,” said Attorney Rob Eggert.
Lucciano Entered Not Guilty Plea
Lucciano‘s legal team has since maintained that he was acting in self-defense. They also asked that the DJ at least remain home on house arrest due to the claim that he is not a flight risk. Lucciano also supposedly doesn’t have a significant criminal history and won’t cause issues since he turned himself in.
“He has supported himself and DJs not only for Jack Harlow, but for other artists,” said Attorney Eggert regarding DJ Ronnnie Lucciano. “Mr. O’Bannon is not a flight risk.”
Victim’s Mother Also Called Out Security Of The Nightclub
“I do not accuse (Harlow) or feel like it was entirely on him, because he’s an entertainer,” Davis said. “He was there to do a job, but I feel like the security and the owner of the club should have been more diligent in protecting and making sure it was secure.”
Jack Addressed Shooting And Showed Empathy For Victim’s Family
“My heart is broken by the events that occurred over Derby weekend. My heart breaks for Kasmira, her children, and everyone else touched by this tragic death. My heart breaks for my city, a place that’s been through too much pain already.”
