Nicki Minaj is breaking her silence on the death of her father, who was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in New York.
The ‘Anaconda’ rapper posted a lengthy statement on her website where she addressed several situations including the death of her father and the passing of DMX.
In the posting, Nicki admits she is having trouble speaking about the situation, but wanted to address it a bit with her fans. Obviously, it is a “devastating loss” for the musician and she revealed how she finds herself wanting to call him all the time.

“Tho I can’t really bring myself to discuss the passing of my father as yet; I can say it has been the most devastating loss of my life,” Nicki wrote.
She continued, “I find myself wanting to call him all the time. More so now that he’s gone. Life is funny that way. Adding, “May his soul rest in paradise. He was very loved & will be very missed.”
On the website, Nicki also addressed the loss of DMX, which she explained had a huge effect on her at the time.

“The passing of DMX hit me like a ton of bricks,” Minaj said.
She continued, “Losing him felt like losing someone I grew up with. I adored him. Blessings to his family.”
As we reported, Nicki’s father was hit by a vehicle in Long Island, New York. The driver allegedly fled the scene following the accident. Minaj’s mother subsequently filed a $150 million lawsuit against the driver. His “behavior was criminal, cowardly, and immoral,” the family’s lawyer said. Adding, “We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death!”
On a brighter note, Nicki is preparing to release new music today, and her fans are pumped about what is to come…
