Target has pulled Chrissy Teigen’s cookware line off the shelf. Amid the backlash from Teigen’s ongoing feud with singer and Reality TV actress Courtney Stodden. It is being reported by TMZ that the popular retailer will no longer be carrying her line of cookware and cooking accessories on their website. Apparently, the company quietly made this decision about a month ago and they have not completely scrubbed the model from their retail family as they plan to still carry her cookbooks.
Target Wants No Parts Of This
Teigen shockingly apologized this week after Stodden revealed that when she was 16-years-old, Teigen was cyberbullying her to a level that no self-respecting person should take it. Stodden who uses the pronouns they/them shared with The Daily Beast that she received both public and private messages from the former model encouraging her to “kill herself” and saying “things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die’”. Teigen even went as far as to tell the teenager that she “hates” her.
Chrissy Has Apologized
The mom of two issued a public apology to Stodden stating that she was in a bad place in her life blaming her “insecurity” and love for attention as some of the reasons she made the decision to bully the reality TV star. “I was an insecure, attention-seeking troll, I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that … is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.” She continued, “I’m so sorry, Courtney, I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.”
The Apology Came To Late
This whole situation is kind of ironic seeing as Teigen made a show of leaving Twitter only a few months ago. She cited “negativity” and feeling “deeply bruised” by the comments people have made about her as her reason why. She made it about a month before she signed back on acknowledging that she loves the attention she gets from the social media platform. As for Teigen’s apology to Stodden, she claims to have reached out privately as well to which Stodden claims has not happened.
Courtney Is Having A Hard Time Taking Her Serious
Stodden shared her thoughts on Teigen’s apology, “All of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology, but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with Target and other brands who are realizing her ‘wokeness’ is a broken record.” Target has not clarified how far their partnership with Teigen will be affected because of this unfortunate scandal but as of now, fans cannot get the supermodels pots, pans, and kitchen accessories at Target for the time being.
