“Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro seemed to catch a lucky legal break, but he is reportedly taking the situation very seriously.
The reality star’s lawyers told Hollywood Life that Ronnie is currently seeking treatment for “psychological issues.” He was arrested for “suspicion of intimate partner violence” on April 22, but all of the recent charges against him were dropped.
“He is currently seeking medical treatment for psychological issues that he has ignored for a long time,” Ortiz-Magro’s lawyers, Scott E. Leemon and Leonard Levine, told HL on May 13.
The lawyer’s statement continued, “His only present goal is to address these issues professionally and make himself [a] better person and the best father he can be to his loving daughter.”
The troubled star, who faced domestic violence charges before, seemed to catch a lucky break as Leemon and Levine claim all the charges from his recent arrest will not be filed.
“We are very happy that after further investigation both the L.A. County District Attorney’s office and the L.A. City Attorney’s office determined that criminal charges were not warranted against Ronnie related to the incident that occurred in April,” they told Hollywood Life. “We will review the alleged violation of probation claim and deal with it accordingly.”
Ronnie ended up getting out after paying the $100,000 bail after his April 22 Los Angeles arrest. A few days later, he broke his silence on social media, thanking the people who stuck with him during these difficult times. “I am grateful for all of my real friends!” he wrote at the time. “I take all experiences as lessons. You learn who really cares about you when down and out.”
The “Jersey Shore” star is still on probation for the 2019 incident involving his baby mama, Jen Harley. He allegedly got into a physical altercation with Harley before chasing her out of the Airbnb and brandishing a knife. He eventually pleads guilty to seven misdemeanors and was sentenced to 36 months probation.
