The Weeknd is high esteemed in the music world today. The 31-year-old singer and former boyfriend to Ariana Grande continues to amaze his fans in a variety of ways. Whether its fooling millions with fake cosmetic surgery, or creating videos or wearing a rain coat straight out of an anime, the media is always ready to feature him.
And speaking of featurettes, the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer has raised some eyebrows as he released an ominous post on his Instagram. A post which many believe is a hint about a new album!

‘The Dawn Is Coming’
To preface this release, it should be noted that he performed his new song “Save Your Tears” at the BRITS Awards wearing the rain-suit. A suit that is a drastic image change for the artist (if that is even possible) since he is usually seen in a bright colored suits. (He opted to stop wearing his red suit recently)
His new post shows him in the rain suit, and he included caption: “the dawn is coming…” about 4 hours ago.
Needless to say, the anticipation for his next post is palpable.

‘It’s So Beautiful’
In April he shared that he was happy with how the album was progressing:
“made so much magic in the small quarantined room … now just piecing it all together … it’s so beautiful.”
In an interview with Variety this month (which was reposted by Billboard) the star shared that he has been hard at work on his next album, and expects this to be “the dawn” compared to his last album.
“If the last record is the after hours of the night,” he told the mag, “then the dawn is coming.”
Secret Voting Groups!?
Rather ironically, The Weeknd received a notorious amount of fame during the controversy surrounding the Grammy award show that took place earlier in the year. He said that he was “uninterested” in being a part of the award show, even after they publicly shared that they removed the secret voting groups.
His criticisms over what he believed to be a rigged system designed were not only made famous across the internet but were later fully vindicated.

The Boycott
“I think the industry and public alike need to see the transparent system truly at play for the win to be celebrated, but it’s an important start,” he continued. “I remain uninterested in being a part of the Grammys, especially with their own admission of corruption for all these decades. I will not be submitting in the future.”
The star’s manager was also fully supportive of his position and commended him for staying resolute about not tolerating unfair treatment. (Especially since The Weeknd had one of the most popular albums and singles for an entire year straight. Namely with his song “Blinding Lights”)
