There are only a few weeks left until “The Masked Singer” season 5 finale, and fans have gotten a fair amount of clues to help them decide what secret celebrity is hiding underneath each costume.
In the first video clue package, the Black Swan hinted that her “talent” made her someone else’s “prey” until she was rescued by her “faithful flock.” The video also included a pocket watch decorated with the number five, an engagement ring, and a red X.
The main clue from the second video clue package was a penny and a nickel, which adds up to six cents.
In another clue package, she revealed that she used to send out audition tapes without her face so she would be judged by her talent alone. She also passes by a backpack that says “Montana” on it and jumps out of a plane, passing a cloud shaped like a dinosaur and the word, “Spot.”
In one of the last clue packages, the Black Swan revealed that it was her mother who gave her the “gift” of music, and said that her mother believed in her even before she believed in herself.
Another clue provided a glimpse of a silhouette of the state of New Hampshire, which might provide a solid clue as to where the singer is from.
JoJo, born Joanna Noëlle Levesque, began performing in her home state of New Hampshire when she was only 6-years-old, which ties into several of the clues.
Her major success came in her teenage years with hits like “Leave (Get Out)” and “Too Little, Too Late” but contract disputes made it difficult for her to perform for many years.
JoJo also had a close relationship with her single mother, but, just as Black Swan indicated that fame came between her and a close family member, JoJo replaced her mother as her manager soon after she reached commercial success.
There are even more clues that tie back to the “Comeback” singer. The number 5 shown during week 2 can have multiple meanings for the singer: she has 5 albums, which have sold 5 million copies, and she was also the opening act for Fifth Harmony.
Later in that same episode, Cluedle-Doo revealed that “Black Swan has covered a monster.”
The red “X” is a nod to her brief role as a guest judge on “The X Factor” and the “Reward Voucher” which emphasized “RV” is a callback to the 2006 comedy of the same name, in which she starred with Robin Williams.
With all of these clues, it seems likely that fans have figured out Black Swan’s real identity, but have they figured out who’s behind the Chameleon?
