Billie Eilish is easily the most popular 19-year-old on the planet right now. She is the youngest person in history to win the four primary Grammy categories, and her song “Bad Guy” is practically synonymous with the concept of angsty pop-chart sensations. (A genre of music which has gained tremendous popularity over the last several decades)
The formerly neon-green haired star broke into the teen-pop industry releasing music that resembles something out of a fallen-angel’s diary, taking the music charts by storm.

‘End Of The Era’
Billie wowed her fan base in mid-march after revealing that she had dyed her hair a platinum blonde color on Instagram. The revelation sparked a surge of interest in the hair color, and it prompted the start to make comments about how she felt it was time to bring in a “new era” for her look.
“It’ll be the end of the era,” she said. “I’m gonna give you a new era. I have announcements to make. I got some s**t to put out. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Leave me alone and let me live with my f*****g hair that I’ve had for way too long.”

Billie had an incredibly insightful interview with controversially famous talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres yesterday (May 11) where she detailed why she changed her hair to this particular color.
As Ellen pertinently pointed out, it has never been uncommon for the young star to change her hair color, but the change to blonde was the first time she had ever done it before.
Fascinatingly, Billie’s inspiration for changing her hair came from a fan who created fan-art showing what she would look like with a blonde hair color.

‘I Saw A Fan Edit’
Billie had the following to say (enthusiastically) when asked about her decision to change her hair color:
“I’ve been wanting it blonde for a while and then I saw a fan edit when I had green hair”, Billie told Ellen. “It was me with whatever hair color I had, and they just edited blonde hair on me and I was like, ‘Ah, it’s so sick, I want it!’”
As previously mentioned, Billie’s choice to go blonde sparked any fans to dye their hair, though this wasn’t entirely without some risk involved. Several outlets spoke about how improperly dying one’s hair in this “Platinum-blonde” color could actually “burn” your roots!
Thankfully, Billie experienced no damage to her hair after undergoing this process, though it was quite time consuming to say the least.
Indeed, Billie told Ellen that it was “very hard” to change her hair from a “dark dark color” to such a light one. Not only did she have to wear a wig to cover her hair during the process, but it took about 6 weeks to fully complete the transition.
As many fans echo on her social media, this is some serious dedication being shown by Billie!
