Floyd Mayweather is set to fight Logan Paul in Miami next month at Hard Rock Stadium in an exhibition boxing match. This even will not affect either of their professional boxing records due to the exhibition format but there is still tons of hype leading up to this match. Last week also drew a lot of buzz at their press conference at the stadium after Floyd and Logan’s brother, Jake, got into it after Jake decided to snatch Floyd’s hat away.
Floyd Entertained Fighting Both Logan And Jake In Same Night
During Floyd‘s confrontation with Jake at Hard Rock Stadium, he had no problem at all accepting Jake’s offer to fight him on June 6 as well. Now, that doesn’t appear to have any chance at all, but according to Mayweather Promotions CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, the two fighting in the future is a possibility.
“Realistically, he could [fight both brothers], but no … from a business standpoint, no,” Ellerbe said to TMZ. “[Floyd] and Logan are gonna have a great exhibition on the 6th of June and the whole world will be entertained.”
Jake Got Tattoo Of A Hat To Troll Floyd
Jake Paul took things a step further to troll Floyd about their altercation in Miami. The YouTuber turned boxer went on to get a tattoo of a cap with the lettering “Gotcha hat” above it in honor of him actually snatching Floyd’s hat at that press conference. The link was designed on Jake’s leg. This is viewed by crazy by a lot of people but based on what they’ve seen from Jake, he always soaks in the spotlight whenever he can.
Floyd’s Fight Vs Logan Was Originally Supposed To Take Place In February
Floyd vs Logan was actually supposed to happen back on February 20, as initially announced in early December. As the date of the fight drew closer on January 20 though, the fight ended up being postponed. According to TMZ, this happened due to “COVID and other things.” In the end though, the fans are getting what they want, despite many viewing Floyd vs Logan as bad for boxing overall. The fight will be streamed on pay-per-view on Fanmio and Showtime.
Floyd Mayweather Hasn’t Had An Official Fight Counting Towards His Record Since 2017
Since 2018, Floyd has participated in an exhibition fight in Japan vs Tenshin Nasukawa, which he easily won, and has his Logan Paul exhibition coming up this summer. His general boxing record is 50-0 though, and is regarded as one of the best ever in his sport. His last fight where he reached that 50-0 mark was vs UFC’s Conor McGregor in August 2017. Many didn’t think Conor would stand a chance due to being from a different combat sport but he lasted 10 rounds, as Floyd won by TKO.
