James Charles‘ 2021 hasn’t been a good one after the YouTuber’s channel was demonetized, exposed for sending sexually explicit texts to underage fans, and being dismissed off of the YouTube series “Instant Influencer,” but now Charles is being outed for now allegedly posting racist comments to Twitter back in 2020.
In a video posted by TikTok user, @nouvelshepardhere, titled “comes another apology vid @jamescharles care to explain?” the creator shows a screen recording of Charles’ old YouTube video bio, which included links to a now-suspended Twitter account that goes by the username of @jamesscharless.
Charles’ now-suspended Twitter account, which was created in July of 2020, showed that the YouTuber’s account had Tweeted in July of 2016, “I changed my username to @jcharlesbeauty so my social media accounts can match.” In September of 2020, the same account attached to Charles’ YouTube tweeted at Jeffree Star, sup n-word, according to screen recordings posted to social media.
This means that Charles’ account has been inactive for over five years before the racist Tweet was posted. The Tweet had also gone undetected for over a year before fans discovered it.

While it’s not immediately clear whether or not the Tweet was posted by Charles himself, but speculators are starting to debunk the theory that the post was Tweeted by Charles himself, and have safely come to the conclusion that Charles’ account had been hacked.
Within 12 hours of screenshots and recording going viral across social media, Twitter had suspended the account, which would support Charles’ side of not directly posting the Tweet.
At the time of publishing, Charles has not publicly announced or responded to The Blast’s request for comment on wheater or not he had posted the Tweet.
Charles has been on a social media break lately due to his recent controversy.
It is alleged that Charles will make a comeback in the near future, according to fellow social media star, Noah Beck, and when he does he should spend more time making sure his accounts are secure and less time sending sexually illicit messages to minors.
