Adam Sandler’s name has been making the rounds this past week after an unfortunate event at IHOP went viral.
We typically see Sandler’s name in the headlines for reasons such as a new movie, comedy special or being an awesome dad. Well, while he was trying to be an awesome dad earlier this week, he was turned away from a restaurant and news quickly went viral.
Sandler and his daughter were trying their best to carbo-load at a Long Island International House of Pancakes, ‘IHOP’, at the end of April.
While IHOP welcomes all customers, it seems Sandler and his daughter were turned away after a confrontation at the hostess stand.
However, this story is not as bad as it sounds!
On April 25th TikTok account dayanna.rodas posted a video of the problematic pancake encounter.
The TikTok shows a woman with a clown face filter over her face. She threw text over the video that read, “Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc hes not going to wait 30mins for IHOP.”
The video then takes a turn and gets SO MUCH BETTER!
The TikTok then transitions to security camera video from the IHOP where you can see Sandler and his daughter speaking to the IHOP hostess. Sandler sported the most ‘dad’ attire you can imagine. He wore a red North Face sweatshirt, basketball shorts & a face mask, while his daughter sported a sweats and an arm sling.
After a few exchanges, Sandler and his daughter turn and walk out the door.
She captioned the TikTok, “Pleaseee come back.”
CHECK THIS OUT.
I mean that’s how you become an overnight viral star! However, we highly suggest you don’t turn celebrity clients away from dining establishments. You’ve been warned!
Sandler quickly got word this TikTok went viral and decided to take matters into his own hands.
On Monday, May 3rd Sandler took to Twitter to give his side of the story. His two cents if you will.
He tweeted, “For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.”
Clearly, IHOP’S milkshakes bring Sandler to the yard!

IHOP couldn’t NOT see their name plastered in the headlines in connection with one of Hollywood’s most famous. The pancake house has broken their silence on the matter and are paying it forward to Sandler and all milkshake lovers!
IHOP has vowed to make things right and starting Monday, May 10th every Monday will be declared “Milkshake Monday.”
According to CNN, “Customers can go to any of the restaurant chain’s 19 locations across Long Island, pay $6.49, and get all-you-can-drink milkshakes beginning at noon and lasting until 8 pm.”
That’s one way to make Mondays better!
