Bruce Willis Hugs Daughter Scout In Rare Video With Family Amid His Dementia Struggle

Bruce Willis is enjoying some family time. In a new video, he is seen sharing a heartwarming hug with his daughter Scout ahead of the holidays.

The touching moment comes as the "Die Hard" star continues to navigate life with dementia, a condition his family announced he'd been battling with since last year.

Bruce Willis' ex-wife Demi Moore recently gave an update on the Hollywood legend's ailing health, sharing that he's "in a very stable place."

Fans were moved to see Bruce Willis share a sweet hug with his daughter Scout in a video posted to her Instagram page.

The heartwarming father-daughter moment comes amid the actor's battle with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

In the clip, Bruce wore a cozy cardigan sweater and navy pants and wrapped his arms around Scout, who was dressed in a navy blue top and pants, as they stood together in what appears to be a garden.

Scout also shared photos of the holiday celebration featuring her mom, Demi Moore, sister, Tallulah Willis, and friend, as she made a "formal announcement" in the caption that she's "an actor now."

Several fans were moved by the video of her and Bruce, with one writing, "It's good to see Bruce keeping up. Sending him love and warmth this holiday season."

Another said, "I could cry. Love your father.... sending love and peace to your family."

Bruce is a proud dad to five daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, with his ex-wife Demi Moore, and Mabel Ray and Evelyn, with his wife Emma Heming Willis.

Earlier this month, Moore gave an update on the "Pulp Fiction" actor's health and how he was coping with his dementia battle when she appeared in an interview with CNN.

The 62-year-old actress explained that Bruce is "in a very stable place," but watching him struggle hasn't been easy.

"Given the givens, he's in a very stable place at the moment," she shared. "And I've shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely. It's so important for anybody who's dealing with this to really meet them where they're at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy."

Moore noted that seeing a loved one struggle with the condition is "very difficult" and is "not what I would wish upon anyone."

"There is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it," she added.

Bruce's wife, Emma, said in an interview with Town & Country Magazine that she's had to take up advocacy because the rare condition currently has no known cure or treatment.

She also discussed its impact on their young daughters and revealed that she doesn't hide anything about it from them.

Responding to how she was coping, Emma said, "Today I'm much better than I was when we first received the FTD diagnosis."

"I'm not saying it's any easier, but I've had to get used to what's happening so that I can be grounded in what is so that I can support our children," she continued. "I'm trying to find that balance between the grief and the sadness that I feel, which can just crack open at any given moment, and finding joy."

When asked about the impact on their daughters, she said that the disease was "misdiagnosed, it's missed, it's misunderstood, so finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what frontotemporal dementia is and I could educate our children."

She added, "I've never tried to sugarcoat anything for them. They've grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I'm not trying to shield them from it."

Since Bruce's dementia diagnosis became public knowledge, his family has rallied around him to shower him with love and support.

Although he and Moore are no longer married, they've managed to keep their co-parenting duties as a priority, which has further helped their blended family stay together amid the actor's health troubles.

Speaking on their supportive dynamic, Moore told CNN, "[What] has been very important to me even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced, is the recognition that we're a family, and we'll always be a family, just in a different form."

"And that form may kind of evolve and change, and there is a way in which we can all be in that form," the actress added. "And I'm grateful, 'cause it's not just me — it has to require everybody to be coming together. And it's lovely."
