Just a couple of days after Ben Affleck had his private conversations with an online dating match leaked, the same happens to Matthew Perry. It can be said that Matthew Perry’s situation is a little less embarrassing.
Kate Haralson the 20-year-old girl who matched with Perry on the Raya dating app confirmed that she never discussed anything sexual with Perry. Their conversations were more or less cordial. Still, she decided to make her conversations with Perry public. She never thought her leak would get so much attention.
Haralson was 19 at the time that she matched with Perry on the app. In an interview with PageSix, she mentioned that she never really intended to go public with the facetime call. However, since she saw the whole Ben Affleck situation go down she thought it would be “funny”. She mentioned to the outlet,
“Honestly, I never really had any intention of posting it, but then I saw that one video, and thought, ‘Oh, this would be funny,’” she said. “I didn’t expect it to blow up as fast as it did.”
Haralson mentioned that when she went public with the Mathew Perry call she got in touch with Nivine Jay. Who, is the TikTok user that posted her conversation with Ben Affleck.
Harlson mentioned that she ultimately decided to take the video down because of the way that it “blew up”. She also revealed that Jay had told her to ignore the critics and stand her ground. However, since her intention was just to joke around a bit she found the criticism a bit too harsh.
This is something that was covered in the Ben Affleck article, but just in case you didn’t get around to that one he’s a little background. Essentially Raya is branded as an exclusive app for high-end folks to be able to connect with each other.
In short, it’s Tinder, but 100 times more exclusive. Judging from the recent leaks the app is meant for Hollywood actors to hook up with social media stars like Tiktokers. It’s not easy at all to get into Raya.
If you’re reading this thinking it would be extremely cool to be able to facetime with Matthew Perry so that he can ask you, “Am I as old as your dad?” Just know the path to getting in is not that easy.
Although the app essentially only charges a $7.99 fee to be able to remain a member it only accepts around 8% of its applicants. This means that people have a better chance to be accepted into the top colleges in the country. Granted, chatting with Matthew Perry seems way more appealing.
