Archie Mountbatten-Windsor the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned two today and the good wishes came in droves. The birthday celebration could not have come at a better time for the royals. As it has allowed them to once again show off they are still a “tight” family despite all of the speculations.
Will Archie and his soon-to-be-born sister prove to be the key to mending the torn family relationship? Archie sure got all the love from the family despite their differences with his parents.
Pretty much all of the senior royals sent their good wishes to Archie for his second birthday. As is customary the first one to put something up on social media was her Majesty the Queen through the official royal family site.
From there the rest of the family followed. He got a birthday wish from his grandfather and his uncle. All of this before it was his actual birthday in California. No doubt a benefit of having most of your relatives live across the pond.
Although the good wishes are a nice gesture, on his second birthday we essentially got to see only reruns. Most of the pictures that the family posted were from Archie’s christening. From the looks of things, no one from the senior royal family has likely seen Archie in the last year!
Although this is a sad reminder of how things are going within the family it can be Archie and his sister who ultimately bring the family back together. At least that is what many people hope.
Meghan is set to deliver her second child over the summer. Since she’s already too pregnant to travel, that’s why she didn’t go to Prince Phillip’s funeral, she’ll have her baby in California. This would make Archie the highest-ranking British royal likely ever born on American soil.
Will William or Prince Charles come to Southern California for the birth? It really all depends on the dates. They have to be in Britain for Princess Diana’s birthday on July 1st. As long as the dates don’t stack up they could potentially be making a Socal trip.
In the last few days, we’ve heard Prince Harry jump on board the vaccination effort. Therefore it’s no surprise that the couple is using Archies birthday to get people on board with the cause. The couple through their Archwell foundation is looking to have COVID vaccines distributed throughout countries where access to the vaccines is limited. In their statement they mentioned,
“We will not be able to truly recover until everyone, everywhere, has equal access to the vaccine. And with that intention, we are inviting you to contribute whatever you can”
